Due to a shortage of nests inside the crowded den, the newer apprentices had to make their own, squeezed in beside the senior apprentices. Featherpaw had spent a good chunk of the day after his training had finished harvesting up all the moss and heather he could carry back to camp.
It had taken some time to Featherpaw stood triumphantly over his new nest, fluffy white fur covered in scraps of the bedding that didn’t quite make it into the finished project. He gave himself a small shake and stepped into his new nest, a rumbling purr of satisfaction rising from his throat as he looked around at the rest of his new denmates’ progress.
