Run Rabbit Run

The late leaf-fall sun barely peaked over the moors as Willowblossom padded over to the apprentice den, thin tail twitching. He wasn't thrilled to be mentoring one of the former kittypet kits as his first apprentice but since Heronstar had declared them Windclan and if that's what Featherstep decided... Poking his head into the den he caught sight of the orange tabby pelt. "Russetpaw, get up, it's time for training." He called shortly before withdrawing and settling down to wait, short pelt fluffed against the cold.

Russetpaw stretched his lanky limbs one by one. He didn't like his new mentor's tone, so he made sure to take his sweet time in doing so. Once he decided his time taken was adequate, he shook out his oversized ears and slunk out of the den. Spotting his mentor just a bit away from him, he strode over to his side. "I'm here."

Willowblossom's tailtip flicked irritably as Russetpaw took a while to finally emerge from the den. His mind churned, trying to remember how his training went under Rimefang. After a moment he dismissed the thought entirely, he didn't need to try to emulate Rimefang, especially after the blind obedience during Heronstar's announcement. He was free to train apprentices however he thought was best. Probably would be best to show the apprentice their boarders first, sure Heronstar had accepted the kits, now apprentices, into Windclan but they needed to know that this was their territory. Besides, the journey would help combat the cold morning and warm them up for training afterwards. Willowblossom rose to his paws as the tabby appeared, "C'mon," he mewed, "it's cold so getting moving will help warm us up."

He briskly padded to the camp entrance, expecting Russetpaw to follow.
