Ferretfang had been assigned a mentor just a few days prior, and she was excited. She padded into the apprentice den, waking up Eveningpaw. She didn’t know too much about the apprentice, just that he had a brother Nightkit, and were the adopted kits of Oakleap. Thinking of Oakleap made her pause for a moment, thinking of her lost family members. The she-cat had been Badgerstorm’s mate, and the mother of their kits. She shook the thoughts from her mind, nudging the young tom and stepping outside of the den, beckoning him towards her with her tail.

"Morning, Eveningpaw!" she said, chuckling softly at how her exclamation sounded. "We’re going to be hunting today!" explained the she-cat, grinning at her apprentice as she led him into the territory. She remembered being trained, it had been the favorite part of her day when she had been an apprentice. And having this new tom to train was a good distraction from the confusion she had feeling about herself, the thoughts plaguing her mind.

Eveningpaw opened his eyes and stretched rising to his paws the silver and white tom shook the sleep from his pelt and padded out of the den to greet his mentor. He lightly touched noses with her before following her into the clan territory. “So what’s first on the agenda today?” The tom meowed pale green eyes looking up at the she cat.

Ferretfang grinned in her usual, enthusiastic way. "I’m gonna teach you how to hunt! It’ll be awesome!" she explained as she lead Eveningpaw to her favorite hunting spot, a small grove of trees. The morning sun cast a glow onto her pelt, and the warmth felt good in midst of the cold snow. She turned towards the apprentice. "What do you know about hunting?" she asked, not knowing where to begin. She wasn’t quite sure what she had learned as a kit or as an apprentice, it all blended together like a swirling tornado of memories.

Eveningpaw followed Feretfang to a small grove of trees looking around in wonder at them. When she asked him what he knew he racked his brain trying to figure out what he knew about hunting. “I know you have to get into a hunting crouch and you have to make no sounds what so ever. At least that’s what I’ve been told.” The silver tom meowed. “Like this?” He meowed getting into a hunting crouch, though of course it needed a little bit of work.
