Listen to the sparrow

Sparrowclaw padded out of the warrior den with a big grin, today she would be training fogpaw. As sparrowclaw padded towards the apprentice den to get fogpaw, she thought about what the training would be. She nudged her apprentice awake with a small smile. "Come on fogpaw, time to train!" She mewed smiling.

Fogpaw lay tightly curled in her new nest, fluffy tail draped over her nose to protect it from the cold. She squeaked at the sudden intrusion of Sparrowclaw, blearily blinking open her eyes. She hopped to her paws, stretching as she went, long fur sticking out in all directions. "Okay, I'm up!" she mewed, voice a little croaky with residual sleep.

Sparrowclaw nodded and padded towards the entrance. "Today, I'm going to teach you the basics of hunting and then you can practice what you learned." she said as they headed deeper into the forest.

Fogpaw shook herself, long coat flying around her, and trotted after Sparrowclaw, tail flicking with excitement. "I'm gonna get the biggest squirrel!" she squeaked eagerly. All but bouncing as she followed her mentor.

As they reached the perfect hunting area, sparrowclaw turned to fogpaw with a smile. "Tell me what you already know so I know what to teach you." she mewed

Fogpaw wrinkled her nose in thought for a moment. "You just gotta' sneak up," as she mewed she dropped into a clumsy, unbalanced crouch, "and then jump on them!" she finished with a squeal as she threw her body at some imaginary prey in front of her. Her fluffy tail lashed excitedly as she looked to her mentor for approval.

Sparrowclaw mewed in a sorta laugh as she watched fogpaw try to catch an invisible prey. "Good job but you need to be in the correct position depending on the prey." She mewed.
