Strawpaw's Moonstone Journey

Grasssnake softly sniffled, as he padded towards the Apprentice's den. The sickness going around Shadowclan had hit him, and it became rather hard to do his duties. Many cats had told him that they could handle his duties, and that he should get some rest. He had said no to all of them though. Shadowclan needed it's deputy. Plus he'd get better soon. That's what happens with all sicknesses.

He peeked his head in, his green eyes scanning the den. He quickly found Strawpaw, and padded over to her. He softly tapped her with his tail, with intent of waking her up. "Get up Strawpaw. It's time for your moonstone journey." Grasssnake whispered, before softly sniffling. He then turned around and padded towards the entrance of camp, the herbs that Driftpaw had set down, laying comfortably in one of the less marshy patches of grass. He then sat down, and waited for Strawpaw.

Strawpaw had been anticipating this moment for what felt like ages and at Grasssnake's soft voice, the fluffy she-cat awoke within an instant. Jumping up just in time to see her mentor's pelt leaving the den, she give a second thought to grooming or sprucing herself up, and giving her legs a stretch she fumbled over the floor of sleeping pelts, trying her best not to wake any-cat else up. Bounding out of the den, she ran after the deputy, skidding to a halt. "I'm ready!" she chirped happily with a big smile.
