As Fast as the Wind [CLOSED]

An apprentice! What a delight! Despite his young age, Mudmask was given an apprentice to look after and train so she can be one day a warrior like him. It was a great responsibility, indeed, but also an act of merit if he could train Fernpaw to warriorhood. And for that, the young she-cat would have to learn how to hunt and survive in the open moors, which covered most of Windclan's territory. He stopped the walk and took a deep breath, deciding that this will be the perfect place to start. A couple of rocks and tall grass but not too much place to cover either, as usual in Windclan. "Okay Fernpaw! Here we are! We have already walked a good trail to here so you have an idea of how is our land. Not many trees or bushes to hide and little prey to see around, especially now in leafbare. That's why we will start training on your hunting skills, especially, on the stalking and chasing part. Do you have any questions?" The handsome tom faced the young she-cat, waiting to see if there was any doubt that may cross her mind before training could start.

Fernpaw was silently following her new mentor, thinking of new pranks. When he stopped and started talking the young apprentice listened. She smirked when he mentioned any questions right as a prank idea hit her head. “What if I tripped and hurt myself while chasing a prey?” She mewed innocently trying not to show she was planning a prank on her mentor.

The tom wasn't really expecting a question but it did not catch him off-guard. He smiled in a comforting way, trying to offer some feeling of security to the young apprentice. "If you fall, the worst that can happen is a few bruises or cuts but nothing to worry about! We can go back to the medicine cat if it is too bad but probably, you will just need some rest and you will be back in your paws! There are not many things to trip over here, though, so don't worry."

The grey and white tom took a few steps and sniffed the air. It seemed like there was not much prey here. Well then, he would play the prey role. "Okay, I will go and hide in the tall grass or bushes. Your task now will try to jump on me without me noticing you approaching. You can take as much time as you wish." Mudmask trotted away and chose a large spot of high grass with some small bushes starting to grow from the snow. He climbed into a plain, not so tall rock and laid down there, facing the horizon, away from Fernpaw.

Fernpaw watched as he went to hide then padded away to find a berry bush. Once the striped apprentice found what she was looking for she crushed up the berries and rubbed them across her mouth. After that she went to look for Mudmask. She could still easily smell him even with the berries so she quickly got in a hunting crouch downwind of where he was. Silently she krept up and then with her pack legs pounced on top of Mudmask. “AHHHHHH!” She screamed with the red berries dripping from her mouth.
