Beepaw had followed her fellow clan-mate, wondering what they were doing going into the territories alone. The thought that maybe they got permission? Had come up in her mind but why would they give a random apprentice permission to go out in the territories? And She had been following oddpaw for a while, it wasn't as if she was hunting or anything. Beepaw's dark, multi-colored pelt blended in with the likewise dark and marshy surroundings, and at this point Beepaw had become pretty good at sneaking around. Shes a shadowclanner- it is in their blood to be sneaky.
She guessed that Oddpaw hadn't gotten that memo. Lacking any sort of stealth, they just seemed to wander aimlessly farther and farther out into the territories. Beepaw followed close behind in the shadows. The farther out they got the more worry pricked at her paws, and as soon as she saw the long dark thunderpath it only heightened. She had only heard stories of the monsters that would rumble by, not stopping for anything in it's path. Last gathering they had crossed it to get to four-trees and luckily no monsters had been around that time.
This time was different though. Before the monster was in sight Beepaw's ears flicked in the direction of a distant noise, she lifted her head out of the underbrush and took a step forward, accidentally breaking a twig. Oddpaw didn't move or react to the sudden snapping noise, they just stared into the monster's eyes as it approached with rapid speed. As it roared, Beepaw finally sprung out and yowled "Move!" not giving time for Oddpaw to respond if she would've, Beepaw grabbed onto the scruff of the apprentice and pulled her out of the way. They both fell to the ground off the thunderpath and the monster continued on, leaving a low growl that trailed off in it's wake.
