The Lightning Within the Clouds [Closed]

Normally, a calm demeanor fell upon the ThunderClan deputy. She was, after all, her fathers' daughter. Nothing could shake how she felt about things. The stoic disposition and the stance as if she were as strong as a tree were what had found her in such a position. But today was different. Circumstances were different. If it was an outing with her apprentice, or any of the other warriors, she would have had no problem. But there was a youthful itch between her paws that she just couldn't shake, a certain bounciness to her step that was most certainly not going anywhere. Cloudbreeze would finally be getting some time with her father, and there was a kit-like excitement that always came alongside such an event.

So, as patiently as she could, she waited for him... even if every moment seemed to dread on for eternity.

"Great StarClan, you look like you're about to burst from excitement," Lightningstar mewed as he approached his daughter, Cloudbreeze. Recently, she'd expressed to him her desire to go on a one-on-one patrol with him, and while things were very busy for the both of them, he couldn't possibly have said no to her of all cats. So, here he was, standing in front of his usually composed daughter and deputy, who looked as if she was claw through the ground from anticipation.

Cloudbreeze had to take all her effort not to pout like a kit when her father finally arrived. Glancing the other way out of feign innocence immediately, she finally managed to contain herself. "I'm just surprised you actually showed up and said yes, that's all." With all that they had to do as the leading figures of the Clan, it was a shock that they even had any downtime at all. Of course, some days it felt like Cloudbreeze herself had much more to do than her father did. Standing to her feet, her head signaled for them to start heading out. Even though technically she should be following Lightningstar as the figure ahead of her, patrols were her ground and what she was used to doing. "What even have you been up to lately, outside of making sure the other Clans don't usurp us?"

Following his daughter out of camp and into the wooded forest, the two of them soon padded alongside each other. Listening as Cloudbreeze spoke, her question almost seemed contradicting, but he wasn't going to say anything about it. He respected his daughter and deputy, even if she did give him some unnecessary sass sometimes. Besides, she was as she-cat, so it only made sense.

"It would be a mistake to try and attack us; have you seen the other clan's numbers?" Lightningstar mewed stoically, holding his head and tail high, per usual. He wasn't one to willingly bash on the other clans, but what he said was the truth. There was no denying that ThunderClan was the largest clan and that came with it's perks. But that was enough about them, for now.

"The usual. Warrior ceremonies, joining patrols," the large leader added, answering her initial question. Though the presence of rogues slowly grew, times had been more than peaceful as of late, which was a blessing but also a curse, seeing as though there would always be calm before a storm...
