Decisions, decisions... (closed)

Padding up to Sunningrocks, Lightningstar sat down atop the mound of smooth stones that lined the riverbed. A soft breeze blew through the area, ruffling his long, fluffy pelt, and the leader let out a huff. Quite honestly, doing such a thing put him at grave risk, seeing as though RiverClan was hostile about such a part of their territory, but whatever happened, the large tom would remain calm and collected. He didn't know who he'd run into today, but whoever they were, he would ask to be taken to Lichenstar so that they might converse about his offer. An alliance with RiverClan... it would certainly be the first time something of the sorts had ever happened and he knew there would be some push back from each clan, but even so, he prayed that the cats of the forest and river might one day stop their medial bickering, for quite frankly, it was more annoying than anything. Speaking of alliances, upon speaking with Silverstar a few sunrises ago, Lightningstar wanted to ponder the idea of a trinity alliances, though he wouldn't dare mention such an idea until he got Lichenstar's final answer on the current matter, of course. For now, he needed to take things one step at a time and not get too ahead of himself.

Light pawsteps crunched small pebbles lining the riverbank, their edges well-worn and smooth underfoot. Lichenstar padded among the reeds, mouth agape for any land prey while her eyes flickered across the swift waters. RiverClan's power was by no means impressive, she knew that. All she could do was keep up appearances and hope for new warriors and new kits next season. She'd been keeping a watchful eye on their rivals. None of them were particularly power-hungry, but the temptation to take advantage of RiverClan's lack of warriors was undeniable.

A strong ThunderClan scent immediately caught her attention. She peered in the direction it came from, spotting that huge tom... sitting on top of Sunningrocks. For a moment she stared, dumbfounded at Lightningstar's arrogance. Was this a trick? Was he planning on taking the rocks for himself? 'No, he is alone. So he's just an idiot. If anyone else had found him I'd have another mess to clean up.' He didn't appear to be relaxing, so he was here for a reason. Perhaps he intended on speaking of the "alliance" he'd mentioned during the past Gathering. The she-cat sighed and collected herself, before appearing within sight of the opposite end of the shore. She swam over, taking note of the amount of debris in the water as she went.

"Afternoon, Lightningstar. I assume you're here to talk?"

Turning his gaze to Lichenstar, Lightningstar internally sighed a breath of relief; she was just the cat he wanted to see.

"Afternoon," the large warrior replied with a nod of greeting as she swam over. "Yes, I'm wondering if you've made a decision about my... proposition," he added. Hopefully, she had excepted his... "offer," for it seemed like a valuable one to say the least. Of course, there was no current concern or dire need for an alliance and he hated to look as if he was desperate, but the leader couldn't help but want to be proactive, seeing as though it was better safe than sorry. Besides, maybe such a treaty between ThunderClan and RiverClan could finally ease the bickering that had been going on between them for moons past.
