Daddy-Daughter Day [closed]

Ferretpaw was very excited. Today, she would be hunting with her father, Lightningstar. She had been out with her mother, Sageleaf a lot, but not very much with the leader. So finally, they could spend some time together. She waited by the edge of camp, swishing her grey tail impatiently, waiting for the huge grey tom to approach. As she saw him start to walk over, she smiled. This was gonna be so much fun!

Having finished assigning the day's patrols, Lightningstar made his way over to one of his daughters, Ferretpaw, who he promised to hunt with today. Giving a dip of his head to the younger she-cat, the tom motioned with his head towards the camp entrance. "Ready to go?" the leader asked stoically.

Ferretpaw smiled as the leader came over. ”Yeah!” she said, flicking her tail. She started to pad out of camp, alongside Lightningstar. She didn’t say anything, it was a little awkward, standing next to the large cat. It made her feel very small.

OOC: So sorry for the wait! ;A;

Padding out of the camp entrance with Ferretpaw by his side the pair padded along in silence for a few moments. The leader was personally fine with the quiet, but his daughter seemed a bit antsy, to say the least, so maybe a conversation of sorts was in order.

"Your training has been going well, I presume?" the burly leader asked, turning his stoic gaze to the apprentice.

OOC: It’s alright

Ferretpaw was a bit startled when her father turned towards her. She nodded as he asked the question. ”Yeah! It’s pretty cool!” mewed the apprentice cheerfully. She bounced along with her father until they reached a good clearing that she had hunted before. ”Is here good?” she asked, turning to look up at her father.

Slowing to a stop, Lightningstar glanced around and gave his daughter a nod. "Yes," he mewed simply. "Show me what you know," the large tom mewed, motioning with his head for her to go hunt. Today, he'd see how she was really doing, though he assumed she had been telling the truth about her training.

Ferretpaw nodded, feeling a bit nervous. She had to prove that she was a strong hunter. And her father could be a bit intimidating. Besides just his sheer size, he was very stiff and kinda formal. He was also the leader of Thunderclan. However, her thoughts quieted as she spitted the bushy tail of a squirrel. Quietly she stalked in through the forest, and leapt, trying to catch it. The squirrel heard her, and scurried away, leaving the apprentice lying on the forest floor, embarrassed . The silver tabby got to her paws, looking down sheepishly.

Watching as his daughter began her hunt, Lightningstar took note of things in which to improve upon, and just as he predicted with such notes, Ferretpaw was left empty pawed. Padding up to her, he gave his fluffy pelt a shake. "Be sure to keep your whole body low, including your tail, but don't let your belly brush on the ground," he mewed simply with a nod before motioning with his tail for her to go and try again.
