Silverkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Cloudbreeze had been lounging atop the High Rock soaking in some sun, when she remembered it was time for one of the ceremonies. Straightening herself up and sitting proud, she called out to her clan. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the High Rock for a clan meeting!"

Silverkit padded out of the nursery, yawning, but still excited. Today was her apprentice ceremony. She was finally old enough to begin her training as an apprentice. She grinned, but then it faded. The normally shy kit felt shy once more as she sat below the High rock.

Cloudbreeze silenced the crowd with a flick of her tail when she saw the kit to be apprenticed. "Silverkit, you have reached the age of six moons old. From this day forth until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Silverpaw. Badgerstorm will be your mentor." Many of the apprentices were falling to Badgerstorm, but Cloudbreeze had faith in his ability to teach.

BadgerStorm looked at Silverpaw and smiled. Even if one of his apprentices died he made it a goal to train all of them to warrior hood, he would make palepaw proud by training Silverpaw in her place. BadgerStorm touched noses with Silverpaw and knew Ferretpaw and Stormpaw would probably share some training time with the newest apprentice of the bunch.

Silverkit’s eyes shone as she touched noses with her mentor. “Hi...Badgerstorm. When do we begin training?” She asked, bouncing on her paws once more. “I hope it’s soon!” Silverkit, no, Silverpaw’s pelt shone under the rays of warm sunlight, making her feel happier than ever,
