Halfkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Magpiewing leapt onto the Jaggedrock, clearing his throat before sweeping his tail and calling out. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Halfkit had reached the age of 6 moons, finally, so he was certain the time had come for his apprentice ceremony. He shouldered his way to the front of the group of gathered cats, ignoring the sharp mews of protest. He settled himself down at the front of the crowd, gazing up at Magpiewing from the base of the Jaggedrock with narrowed, gleaming eyes.

"Halfkit, please step forward."

"You have reached the age of six moons, and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Halfpaw. Your mentor shall be Alfalfatuft. Congratulations." The deputy jumped down from his perch and congratulated the new apprentice with the rest of the clan.
