Robinpaw's Warrior Ceremony

For once, Silverstar had some time to complete some ceremonies. Robinpaw had completed her training, and now it was time for her to become a full member of SkyClan. He stepped to the edge of the High Ledge, taking in a breath of the fresh, open air, before sounding the familiar call, "Let all cats old enough to hunt their own prey, gather here beneath the High Ledge for a clan meeting!"

Robinpaw emerged from the apprentice's den with a shake of her coat. Since the arrival of the Shadowclan cats, she found herself on patrol or confined to the nest. It was more confusing than anything, why such a blatant violation of the code was allowed without punishment. But even in her internal questioning, she would never disobey Silverstar. She cast a glance over the clearing, seeking out Acornpaw before settling down.

Silverstar watched as Robinpaw approached. He waited for a few seconds for the clan to gather before setting his eyes on the apprentice. He beckoned her forward with a motion of his tail, and after that, he spoke. "I, Silverstar, leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained well to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn." he then locked eyes with her. "Robinpaw, do you promise to uphold the code, and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Her ceremony, of course. Shrikethorn had seemed confident it would come soon. Immediately, nothing else mattered. This was the time to show what she really had to offer to Skyclan. She straightened up, sitting higher as she presented herself to the leader, clan, and ansestors above. Robinpaw's voice didn't waver as she honestly declared herself to them all, "I do."

Silverstar nodded, acknowledging Robinpaw's absolute certainty. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Robinpaw, from this day forth, you shall be known as Robintail. StarClan honors your loyalty and heart, and we welcome you as a full member of SkyClan." he declared before jumping off of the High Ledge. He approached Robintail and rested his muzzle on her forehead before stepping back. In all the chaos that either has unfolded, is currently unfolding, or is about to unfold, there was this moment of cheering to cut through it for now.

Shrikethorn joined the gathering of cats under the High Ledge, feeling about ready to explode with pride. She knew what was about to happen, and was not at all surprised when Silverstar called her apprentice forward. Robinpaw certainly deserved this. The black and white she-cat rose to her paws as Robintail was welcomed as a full member of SkyClan.

"Robintail, Robintail!" she called, pleased to be the first to greet her former apprentice as an equal.

If Acornpaw was a lesser cat, she likely would've found herself wrought with jealousy.

And perhaps she was to some extent, somewhere far below the surface where she's ugly and dark and cruel. However, in the moment it was much too difficult to seek out anything over than the practically palpable delight at the prospect of her denmate earning her name. There was hardly any doubt to the reliably in Silverstar and Shrikethorn's decision, as there was hardly any cat who deserved their full name in the way that Robinpaw did. Although, truthfully the only aspect she was spiteful towards was the realization that she would no longer be permitted to share dens with her friend anymore.

"Robintail!" Acornpaw eagerly chimed in, a haplessly failing example of poor manners as she all but cut Shrikethorn off entirely, unable to resist her own excitement at the proceedings that had just transpired. Reaching up with a small forepaw to gently press and knock against the soft fur of Robintail's cheek, likely sending the pale-furred molly staggering back a pace or two. "I can't believe you beat me to your ceremony! Did you cheat?"

The full gravity of her commitment came with the weight of Silverstar's head on hers. She dipped it gratefully, allowing the promise between warrior and leader become fully realized. Cheers of clanmates rose through the air, Shrikethorn being one of the first cries to reach her ears. The pride of a mentor was a powerful thing, something the newly named warrior was grateful to have. Robintail nodded her head respectfully towards the she-cat who had trained her and helped to shape the naturally born abilities. And then Acornpaw's voice cut through the air, striking Shrikethorn's call in an awkward manner. It made her whiskers twitch briefly in amusement.

Her heart staggered, skipping the rapid beats spurred on by the ceremony, as Acornpaw's pad struck her check. Despite her normally solid stance, the warrior's paws staggered and she stumbled backwards. There was the fainted mrrow of shock and amusement at the action. Then came the tilting of a head as she sized up Acornpaw, "Cheating? Never. I worked hard to get here. I will show you how to be a warrior someday too... if you learn to respect the higher ranks." Robintail had paused, tasting the foreign hints of humor across her tongue. As crooked and strange as the words sounded, a flicker of a smile was offered to the tortoiseshell. A strange thing to see on the unwavering maw of Robintail.
