Crowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Another apprentice! Yet, the tom couldn't help but be worried. There were barely enough warriors to train the new apprentices, even Firestar had two apprentices.

Some little pile of feathers tumbled out from the nursery. Ah, no, it was Crowkit. Easy mistake. The little tom's sun-colored eyes blazed starkly against his unkept pelt. Perhaps today would be the day. He spotted Magpiewing upon the leader's rock. As best as he could, he groomed his unruly fur down until it was somewhat presentable - no one else would do it for him - and walked proudly forward before sitting amongst his older Clanmates. 'It has to be today. They have to let me train!'

Oddpaw purred at the young kit, she fondly remembered her apprentice ceremony. She was so excited, finally a new face in the apprentices den. She subconsciously purred louder.

He could see the excitement in Crowkit's expression. "Crowkit, please step forward."

Magpiewing waited for the kit to step forward before continuing on. "You have reached the age of six moons, and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Crowpaw." He smiled down at the newly-named apprentice. "Your mentor shall be Alfalfatuft. Congratulations."

With that, he leapt from the Jaggedrock, swiftly resting his muzzle on the tom's head before stepping back for Alfalfatuft to greet his new apprentice.
