Valerianpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Jumping up to the top of High Rock, Lightningstar stood at the edge of the hunk of the stone, his long fur catching a cool breeze as it blew through the camp. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gathering beneath High Rock for a clan meeting!" the large leader yowled over the buzzing clan bellow. Today, he would give one of ThunderClan's apprentices, his son; Valerianpaw, his warrior name. His clan grew stronger with each passing sunrise and he couldn't have been more proud of every-cat. Valerianpaw much deserved his warrior name, and he knew the young tom would do him and ThunderClan proud.

Making his way to the front of the crowd, Valerianpaw sat down and neatly tucked his fluffy tail around his paws. Looking up, his olive gaze met his father's. He'd known this day would be coming for quite some time, and today, he would earn his warrior name.

Once Valerianpaw sat bellow High Rock and the clan settled down, Lightningstar continued. "I, Lightningstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Valerianpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" the large leader asked, meeting his son's gaze. Of course, he knew his son wanted nothing more than to do so, but it was tradition to say such ceremonial words.

"I do," he mewed with a firm nod, keeping his gaze fixed on the leader above. He couldn't think of doing anything else besides serving his clan, for his loyalty and faith to them was flowing through his veins. He was very much proud to be a ThunderClan cat, and nothing would ever change that.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Valerianpaw, from this moment you will be known as Valerianroot. StarClan honors your loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan," Lightningstar called over the gathered clan. Once he was done saying his ceremonial words, the leader jumped down from High Rock. Padding over to the newly named Valerianroot, Lightningstar touched his muzzle to the top of the former apprentice's head. "Congratulations. I know you will do us all proud," the deep voiced tom mewed before stepping back to let the rest of the clan flock forward and chant Valerianroot's name.

Ferretpaw had just recently witnessed Badgerstorm's ceremony, and now another one of her siblings was joining the warrior den. Ferretpaw, a newly named apprentice new she wouldn't be joining them for quite a while. "Valerianroot! Valerianroot!" she chanted the new warrior's name. It was a name that fit the tom nicely, and Ferretpaw was proud of all of her kin.
