Budding Berry (OPEN)

In the middle of bustling ShadowClan camp, a kit tried to sneak unnoticed around the warriors' feet. Today was the day she was finally going to make it all the way to the camp entrance without anyone noticing. As she was getting a little bigger, this was getting a little harder, because it sometimes wasn't easy to miss a large ball of orange tabby fluff standing out against the dull-colored ground. However, since everyone was so busy catching prey as they neared the end of leaf-bare, Berrykit thought she could make it this time.

She had already made it halfway from the nursery. She was so close. She could almost taste the freedom she was sure to find out there! It wasn't that she wanted to go and be rebellious, she just had to see what was there. For a minute or so. Then, she'd come back. "Almost there...." Berrykit whispered, her eyes widening, tiny fangs shown in a grin.

Having been laying lazily in the sun near the freshkill pile, per usual, Alfalfatuft spotted a little bundle of fur, beginning to peep out of the nursery, trying to escape, no doubt. Pushing himself up from where he laid, the plump, fluffy warrior gave his pelt a shake. He wasn't a fan of any-cat in general, but great StarClan did he hate kits. So whiny and annoying, with way too much energy to spend.

Padding over to the nursery entrance, the large warrior stomped a big, russet paw right in front of the kit, as to scare it. It took him a second to hold back a chuckle, but he quickly pulled himself together. "And just what do you think you're doing?" he sneered, peering down at the little, golden she-kit.

"What's going on out here?" A big yawn left Thrushkit as he poked his head out of the nursery. His mother thankfully let him play in the clearing without supervision which was nice considering the kit was practically the size of an apprentice. Padding out to meet the other kit and warrior, he gave them a puzzled look. "What happened?"

Just on the other side of camp as he placed his newly fresh kill in the pile, Bramblepaw had watched Alfalfatuft stand up and pad in the opposite direction towards a small ginger kit who now seemed to be stuck. What was going on?

Berrykit flinched a little bit as a large paw slammed in front of her, and she looked slowly up to see a big warrior glaring down at him. Her eyes widened, then she grinned. "Wow, you're really good at being scary!" she gushed, eyes shining. "Did your mentor teach you that? Do you think my mentor will teach me that? Can you teach me that?" All thoughts of escape had flown out of her mind at this new entertainment. This big warrior seemed like fun!

She glanced behind her when she heard a voice. It was a fellow kit from the nursery, one much older than her. "Hey Thrushkit," she chirped, "this big warrior was going to teach me how to be scary! Wanna join?"

Vetiverkit watched the other kits leave the nursery, and with a tilt of her head, she followed. It was about time she left the nursery for a bit of fresh air - she hadn't done so in a few days anyways. Normally she just stayed inside the nice, warm, darker shelter and flung around a mossball if she was bored. Poking her head out, the she-kit saw the others and kept her distance. A slightly frustrated look appeared on her young face at the large paw popping in front of one of her nursery-mates. That didn't seem too nice. "I don't want big paws slammed in front of me like that." She said quietly to herself, the mix of white and ashen colored fur blending near the nursery's entrance.

A small black ball of fluff was roused from sleep. At first, she kept her eyes shut wishing to continue her sweet nap, but the conservation soon grasped her attention. Her ears twitched as she lazily opened one eye.
"How to be scary?" Is that part of becoming a warrior?
Sootkit tried to think up some scary scenes. She had a good time "scaring" one another with fellow nursery kits, sneaking up on each other making faces, or pretending themselves to be a big bad predator. It would be so cool if a warrior himself was coming to teach them how to be scary! She rose up to her paws, stretched her body, shook her head then trotted to the other kits with great curiosity.

"You want to learn how to be scary?" Thrushkit tilted his head before looking up at the warrior. "Will that help me be a great warrior?" he asked before the other two kits appeared. "That's okay, Vetiverkit! Hes just trying to teach us how to he scary! Hey Sootkit! Want to join us?"

"Sounds like fun." Sootkit poked her head out of the nursery entrance, flicking her tail with interest. It didn't take very long before she made up her mind and stepped gladly forth. "Count me in!"
