One Last Time [closed]

Wolfpaw had decided that Violetpaw and him should go hunting for one last time before they became warriors. ”Come on Violetpaw!” he nudged the she-cat. ”Let’s go hunting!” he mewed enthusiastically. He waited for his friend to stand up, then walked with her to the river. One time they hunted here, Violetpaw had been caught in a Twoleg trap. He hoped nothing bad like that would happen this time. The perfect hunting trip would have no predators, just hunting, talking, and having fun. As Violetpaw and him reached the river, he smiled, ”One last hunting trip as apprentices.” he said. He couldn’t wait to be a warrior. He spent a lot of time thinking about what his warrior name would be. He shook out his fluffy grey fur, and got ready to hunt.

Violetpaw yawned and stretched as Wolfpaw woke her up. Blinking her pale mint eyes she stretched each foreleg before getting up, "Hunting? I hope not Twolegplace again?" She mewed with a gentle tone of teasing. She stayed close to Wolfpaw's side as they walked down to the river. As she stared at the river, she had to suppress a shiver as she gazed at the river, remembering her first official hunting training with Willowshade and Wolfpaw. A twoleg trap had caught her paw and refused to let go. Thankfully, SkyClan's medicine cat, Mistedsong was in the area and had managed to help her.

Glancing down at her paw, she looked down at the jagged scar left around her forepaw from the twoleg trap. Shaking her head, she cleared away all negative thoughts. Who ever heard of a RiverClan cat too scared to fish? She was the deputy's daughter. She was not scared of fishing. And neither was Bluepaw! Her brother wasn't scared, just simply not as skilled as other cats. Not saying he wasn't skillful! Brushing worries of her brother away, she focused on Wolfpaw. "I'll go first!" She mewed, padding the the river.

Careful as to not cast a shadow over the river, she peered down and awaited her catch. Soon enough, a massive trout appeared, tempted out by the warm Newleaf weather. It was moving fast, but Violetpaw was faster, flashing out both paws, she delivered a double fling, first with her left paw, then when it was in the air, another fling with her right paw onto land. Once the fish was on land, she pounced, and quickly bit the wiggling mass in it's weak spot, killing it. "This is massive!" She exclaimed, clearly proud of her catch.

Nearby an owl lay waiting, staring at the cats as they caught its prey. His brown and white feathers were mostly concealed by the reeds. He'd chased that trout all the upstream, and those cats would pay for costing him a meal. He'd just wait until they were distracted..

Wolfpaw smiled as his companion caught a fish. ”Nice!” he smiled. He watched another large fish swim by and positioning himself correctly, extended both claws, trying to grab it so he could fling it onto the land. As he successfully flung it beside him, he killed the squirming fish. He didn’t see the owl above, perched, watching Wolfpaw and Violetpaw.

"Wow! The Clan'll really eat well tonig-" Violetpaw never finished her sentence as a screech erupted from the reeds and an owl flew across the river, cruel talons exposed. The owl was young, but not inexperienced. Violetpaw let out a screech of terror and rage as the owl seized her in its grasp, pausing briefly to flap, before beginning its ascend. Violetpaw twisted and yowled, flailing her claws and twisting upward to rake its side. If this owl wanted an easy meal, it would have to look elseward.

The owl seized its chance as its prey became distracted. The cream colored one was smaller, easier prey. Narrowing its beady yellow eyes, the owl spread its wings and screeched, zooming over the river, diving towards his prey. The cream cat was caught off balance and yowled. As he grasped the cat in his talons, she squirmed and shrieked. The prey in his claws was heavier than expected and squirmed more, too. Then its claws raked his side and he screeched, shaking his talons, as to tire the cat. He was aware of the other cat, growing angrier. Because of the squirming of the second cat, it made it harder for him to fly, so he hadn't gained much height.

The owl used iron Grasp on Violetpaw dealing 4 damage! The owl threatens to steal Wolfpaw's girlfriend!
Violetpaw used Claws and Teeth on the Owl dealing 5 ( 4 + 1 ) damage! -2 damage to Violetpaw, as a penalty!

Wolfpaw had been laughing with Violetpaw when they were suddenly attacked. As he heard the screech of  the she-cat, his eyes filled into rage. He tried his best to protect Violetpaw, making it hard for it to capture her. She was already hurt, the owl had barely attacked yet. He gashed at the owl with his claws, trying to hurt it so it would leave them alone.

Violetpaw yowled in outrage as the owl persisted in not letting her go. They'd hardly gained any altitude, so a fall wouldn't hurt her too badly. She twisted and attempted to free herself as the owl, but its piercing talons dug into her. She tried in vain to wiggle free, but all her attempts were fails. The cream tabby writhed until she felt the owl's grip loosen. She clawed at the owl and hissed, snagging a claw on its wing.

The owl shrieked as the other cat whirled at it and scratched, then the one its claws began to fight back. The owl screeched angrily as the cat snapped a claw on his wing, drawing blood.

Violetpaw is still in the owl's grasp, she takes 3 damage from being in its grasp. But she refuses to give up! She uses Claws & Teeth, which deals 7 damage. She takes 2 damage as a penalty.

Wolfpaw was determined to get Violetpaw down and back to safety, no matter the cost. The owl was still hovering just barely overhead, and he was ready to attack once again. He clawed at it, trying to hurt it so it would drop Violetpaw out of it’s pain, or attack him and drop Violetpaw. Either way.

Wolfpaw used Claws and Teeth, dealing 7 [4+3] damage!

Violetpaw hissed and wriggled in the owl's grasp, tossing and turning, until, finally, it let go. Her cream pelt swished through the air as she landed with a thud on the ground before. "Ever...y..time.." She muttered crossly to herself, reflecting on how she always got injured somehow during a hunt.  As she struggled to get up, she saw the owl fly up high, then come rushing down, straight towards Wolfpaw. She tried to yowl a warning, but was too weak and merely made a croaking sound.

Using all the strength she could muster, Violet charged at the owl, scratching, redirecting its attenton to her, as to spare Wolfpaw.

The owl had enough. It released its prey before taking high to the sky. Once high up, the owl skydived, aiming straight for the gray cat. Right as it had him, the previous cat struck out blindly, clawing at its side. He spit with rage and turned on the injured she-cat.

Violetpaw wiggles around until the owl get angry! The owl angrily drops her, dealing 2 damage due to low height! Violetpaw escapes from Iron Grasp this turn as the owl has let her go.
The owl used Full Force tackle on Wolfpaw, dealing 10 damage!
Violetpaw becomes angry and uses Claws & Teeth on the owl, dealing 10 ( 4 + 6 ) damage!

Wolfpaw let out a delighted sigh as the owl dropped Violetpaw. He knew that it injured her, but the height wasn’t to bad, so hopefully she would be alright. Suddenly, as he was looking at his friend, the owl dove right at him, and he stumbled down. As Violetpaw struck out to the owl with rage, he looked at her. ”Violetpaw, you’re hurt! Leave! I can take him.” he yowled, trying to save his friend. His eyes were filled with rage as they locked onto the owl. He struck at the owl, aiming for his eyes, hoping to do substantial damage. Although the owl didn’t get hit in the eye, he still received a nasty blow from Wolfpaw’s claws.

Violetpaw flopped to the ground in pride as Wolfpaw killed the owl. While his claws had aimed for the eyes, as the owl tried to fly up, his claws actually pierced the owl's throat. The cream she-cat attempted to purr out a response, but instead merely coughed up blood. "G..ood ca...tch, Wolf...Wolfpaw.." She meowed weakly, the faintest smile teasing her lips. RiverClan would feast tonight. Did owl taste any good? Even if it didn't, they could still use the feathers from the beast to line the nests of elders' and the nursery.

Two thin talon marks scarred both side of her flank, not too deep, but still pulsing blood. Her green eyes flashed with pain, but she wasn't going to tell Wolfpaw she was hurt. At the sound of pawsteps, she tried to growl but couldn't.

"Get her cobwebs!" A soft voice commanded as a light cream she-cat came running up to them. Her face was split in two different tabby colors, half pale gray, half pale ginger. Her back had darker patches of cram that matched her ears and around her legs were two pale brown stripes. Her cream tail which faded to black streamed behind her as she ran. "Softpaw, medicine cat, WindClan." She mewed hastily, grabbing a wad of cobwebs off a rob. She pushed in into the injury, and waited for Wolfpaw to get her more.

Softpaw had been heading to RiverClan camp to check up on Wildflower and Cottonkit, a little kit who'd taken interest in her healing of Wildflower. When she saw the owl and heard a cat screech, she'd come as quickly as she could.

Softpaw used Minor Heal on Violetpaw, healing 2 ( 1 + 1 ) damage!

Wolfpaw watched as Violetpaw flopped to the ground. His eyes widened. ”Violetpaw!” he yowled. He watched the blood gush out of her wound. His eyes filled with horror. As another cat ran up to them, Wolfpaw looked at her, looking crazed with sadness and rage. After he was told to get cobwebs he looked at her confused. As she introduced himself, his eyes lit up with understanding. ”Oh! Ok.” he ran off, looking for cobwebs. He saw a few on a tree and grabbed them, then ran back to where the two she-cats were, dropping them at Softpaw’s feet. He looked at Violetpaw, praying that she would be alright. ”Is she gonna be okay?” he asksed

"She'll be fine." Softpaw nodded, "Just rest, don't move Violetpaw. You're Wolfpaw, right? Okay, press these cobwebs to her wounds. I've got to find some marigold or horsetail. Don't be afraid to apply pressure. It's the only way to stop the bleeding." She instructed, before dashing off in search of herbs.

The minutes seemed to rag on like hours as Softpaw was gone, "Wolf...Wolfpaw...I.." Violetpaw whispered, attempting to lift her head to look at him. The hurt in his eyes hurt her, and she so strongly wished she could take the pain away from him.

Wolfpaw nodded. He took the cobwebs and applied the, to Violetpaw’s wounds. As he watched the she-cat leave, he decided to say something he had been wanting to say for moons. ”Violetpaw, I-I,” he took a deep breath. ”I love you! You are the best thing that has every happened to me. I couldn’t stand living without you. I love you so much, and I always will. So you have to make it through this. Please, I need you.” shocked at his own confession, he kept pressing the cobwebs on her wounds. Starclan, please save Violetpaw. She deserves to live. I love her and she is gonna be a great warrior soon. So please save her. Let her get through this! he prayed inside his head. He begged her to be alright silently. He watched her every slightest move, waiting for an indication that she would be alright. He waited for the medicine cat apprentice to come back, for her to arrive with herbs that would save Violetpaw.

As Wolfpaw's confession came out, Violetpaw's pale mint eyes widened. Wolf...Wolfpaw loves me...? Wolfpaw let his heart out to her, it was only fair she should do the same. After all, he was her best friend, he'd been there for her when Otterpaw had died, and he'd saved her life from an owl. They'd had so many adventures together... Violetpaw made up her mind. There was no other cat she'd want to spend her life with; Wolfpaw was the cat for her, the only tom she wanted.

Would Bluepaw, Cherrykit, and Ivyfeather approve of her choice? At this time, it didn't matter. Wolfpaw loved her and she him. Her family would adore him, that much she knew. "Wolfpaw...I-i'm not going any..where. Not w-without you... If two...twolegs can't kill me.. Then owls... Owls stand no ch-chance.." She feebly mewed, raising her head slightly to lick his cheek.

Softpaw hurried back, herbs in tow as she quickly applied a marigold and horsetail poultice onto Violetpaw's wounds. "Sorry, unfamiliar territory, longer than expected," She panted, as she'd ran the entire way back. Her experienced paws treated this wound as if were no more than a thorn in a pawpad. She turned to Wolfpaw, Are you hurt?"

Softpaw used Minor Heal on Violetpaw, healing 6 ( 1 + 5 ) damage!

Wolfpaw watched Violetpaw’s reaction, trying to read it. He listened to her sentence. She felt the same way! He felt her lick his cheek. And he returned the gesture, licking her’s. Suddenly, he felt a jolt of pain shoot up his leg. He looked down to see a wound he hadn’t even noticed. It was bleeding. As Softpaw hurried back and treated Violetpaw’s wound, he was impressed by the skill that the she-cat possessed. As she turned to him, he reluctantly nodded. His leg was hurting a lot. He hadn’t felt it because he was so focused on Violetpaw. But now that her wound was healing, she looked so much better.  He waited for Softpaw to tend to his wound, smiling at Violetpaw.
