Vetiverkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Magpiewing called out. Time for another apprentice.

Vetiverkit quickly bounced out of the nursery, excitement tingling in her little paws. She had spent hours grooming herself for the last week. She was six moons old and she knew any day that she would be apprenticed! Hearing Magpiewing's call, the white and ashen shekit impatiently sat with hope and joy at the base of the Jaggedrock.

"Vetiverkit, please step forward." The deputy spoke, staring down at the growing she-cat with hopeful eyes.

It was her! It was indeed her ceremony! The tingling in her paws almost cemented her in place, but a heartbeat after the deputy's call the young kit did indeed take the step.

"You have reached the age of six moons, and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this day forth, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Vetiverpaw." Magpiewing smiled at the newly-named apprentice. "Your mentor shall be Firestar. Congratulations." He knew the she-cat would benefit from having their leader as her mentor.
