Fogkit's Apprentice Ceremony

While he was still currently deciding on a new deputy to fill his daughter's place, apprentice ceremonies still needed to be completed. Having brushed the layer of snow away that crowded his usual spot up on High Rock, the large leader sat down, his head held high in its usual proud manner. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather bellow High Rock for a clan meeting!" he called.

Fogkit poked her head out of the nursery, the thin layer of snow coating the clearing was mostly packed down from the goings-on of the day. Was it her turn? She hesitated but a few moments before hopping out of the den and padding towards High Rock. A small, undisturbed snow pile caught her eye. She froze for a heartbeat before slamming her forepaws on top of it, sending up a plume of powder. Her fluffy tail lashed as the dusting of snow showered down on her silver-shaded coat. Blinking, Fogkit quickly shook herself and resumed her walk towards High Rock where Lightningstar was perched and an assortment of clanmates had already gathered. She sat at the back, snow still clinging to her long fur.

Looking down as the apprentice joined the growing crowd of cats, Lightningstar continued. Fogkit, please step forward. You have reached the age of six moons and it is time you become an apprentice. Fogkit, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Fogpaw. Sparrowclaw will be your mentor," he finished with a nod before joining his clanmates in chanting the apprentices new name.

Sparrowclaw was watching as another kit was becoming an apprentice and she smiled. As she heard her name she looked shocked for a second before nodding at lightningstar. Sparrowclaw got to her paws and padded towards the now named apprentice, touching noses with fogpaw. With a sparkle in her eye, she smiled down at fogpaw. "We will start training at sun high tomorrow." the brown Molly mewed and watched as her young apprentice went to talk to other clan mates.

Fogpaw lifted her chin high as she was given her new name. Green eyes sparkling with excitement, she bounced over to her mentor to touch noses, puffs of snow falling out of her fur as she did so. She nodded eagerly at Sparrowclaw's declaration. Her pelt prickled as everyone called out her new name, she was Fogpaw and now she was a Thunderclan apprentice!.
