SONG Photograph by Ed Sheeran
lyrics:
Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes But it's the only thing that I know When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes It is the only thing that makes us feel alive We keep this love in a photograph We made these memories for ourselves Where our eyes are never closing Hearts are never broken And time's forever frozen still So you can keep me inside the pocket of your ripped jeans Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet You won't ever be alone, wait for me to come home And if you hurt me That's okay baby, only words bleed Inside these pages you just hold me And I won't ever let you go Wait for me to come home Love can heal, loving can mend your soul And it's the only thing that I know, know I swear it will get easier, Remember that with every piece of you Hm, and it's the only thing we take with us when we die You can fit me inside the necklace you got when you were sixteen Next to your heartbeat where I should be Keep it deep within your soul When I'm away, I will remember how you kissed me Under the lamppost back on Sixth street Hearing you whisper through the phone, "Wait for me to come home"

WHY THIS SONG?
This song strongly reminds me of her relationship with Mudmask. She loves him so much, but it hurts her too, because she can't be with him. The last part "wait for me to come home" makes me think Mud is telling her he'll wait for her in StarClan. "Next to your heartbeat where I should be", that part makes me think of Breeze's thoughts that they should be able to be together as a family, laying in the same nest. "But it's the only thing that I know", Breezebranch has only ever known the love of family, and so with all her family dead, the thought that Mudmask loves her makes her want it more, as she misses the bond of love she's always had. All in all, this song really fits her.

SONG Kiss The Rain by Yurima
Lyrics:
I often close my eyes And I can see you smile You reach out for my hand And I'm woken from my dream Although your heart is mine It's hollow inside I never had your love And I never will And every night I lie awake Thinking maybe you love me Like I've always loved you But how can you love me Like I loved you when You can't even look me straight in my eyes I've never felt this way To be so in love To have someone there Yet feel so alone Aren't you supposed to be The one to wipe my tears The on to say that you would never leave The waters calm and still My reflection is there I see you holding me But then you disappear All that is left of you Is a memory On that only, exists in my dreams And every night I lie awake Thinking maybe you love me Like I've always loved you But how can you love me Like I loved you when You can't even look me straight in my eyes I don't know what hurts you But I can feel it too And it just hurts so much To know that I can't do a thing And deep down in my heart Somehow I just know That no matter what I'll always love you I often close my eyes And I can see you smile You reach out for my hand And I'm woken from my dream Although your heart is mine It's hollow inside I never had your love And I never will So why am I still here in the rain?

WHY THIS SONG?
Ever since Mudpaw found out about her father, she's so desperately wanted to know if he loved her. She knows deep down in her heart she can't do anything but love him. SHe tries to blame her mother, but knows she can only love her "Thinking maybe you love me Like I've always loved you." Mudpaw has always loved her mother. She thinks about her father and wonders if he loves, even though she's half-Clan. In the last verse, "Although your heart is mine It's hollow inside I never had your love And I never will" Mudpaw reflects that although she loves her father, she feels hollow because she thinks he doesn't love her and that he never will. In the very last verse, "So why am I still here in the rain?" happens right as she's about to give up trying to find her father ( in Are You Somewhere Out There?) right afterwards though, her father appears to her and tells her that he was scared she didn't love him. I chose this song for Mud as it really tells a story. Each line expresses an emotion that Mud felt along the way. Confusion, love, emptiness, shock, disappointment. The ending verse is honestly perfect when put with her story with her father. Overall, it really just fits her relationship with Mudmask, which plays a big part in who she is.

SONG We Won't Stop Dreaming by Pinkzebra
Lyrics:
Well here we are Living in the moment Well here we are Dreaming in the open I Look around Isn't this a new day Make a move Doing things a new way A new way 'Cause this is our world And this is our time These are our plans We're gonna let 'em shine This is our place In the human race And we won't stop dreaming No we won't stop dreaming Look ahead We can see forever You and me Doing it together Light it up We can be a million stars Look at us Don't you see we've come so far Yeah we've come so far 'Cause this is our world And this is our time These are our plans We're gonna let 'em shine This is our place In the human race And we won't stop dreaming No we won't stop dreaming Standing at the crossroads Feeling how the wind blows We can soar above the clouds Every moment is a heartbeat Every breath feeling so sweet Who can say what happens now 'Cause this is our world And this is our time These are our plans We're gonna let 'em shine This is our place In the human race And we won't stop dreaming No we won't stop dreaming 'Cause this is our world And this is our time These are our plans We're gonna let 'em shine This is our place In the human race And we won't stop dreaming No we won't stop dreaming We won't stop dreaming

WHY THIS SONG?
When I first heard this song, I thought of Softpaw, but when it mentioned "you and me Doing it together" I immediately thought of Wolfpaw and Violetpaw. Vi has always been independent, wanting to "shine" to impress her mother. When she met Wolfpaw, they did everything together. "'Cause this is our world And this is our time These are our plans We're gonna let 'em shine This is our place" RiverCLan is their home and as the new generation of warriors, it's their time to shine. Violet and Wolf do a whole lot of crazy things together, and "we've come so far" since they were little apprentices and kits. This is only the beginning, as they won't stop dreaming. Basically, a song about her independence and relationship with Wolfpaw.
