1...2...3..... (Open after med and kits post)

Fernstep was laying in the nursery when she felt pain ripple through her. She knew what the pain meant and quickly yelled for her friend. “Softcooud! The kits are coming!” she mewed as another burst of pain came.

Softcloud came running, a stick, raspberry leaves, willow bark, sorrel, and cobwebs in check. "Amberberry! Find me leaves that look like this!" She yowled to the nearest warrior, shoving a raspberry leaf at them before dashing into the nursery. "Don't worry, Fernstep, you'll be fine. Chew these." She instructed, sliding sorrel and raspberry leaves to her. Gently, she checked her stomach feeling for kits. "Bite the stick when it hurts, it feels like you've got three kits to bring into the world, you'll do fine."

Fernstep chewed the herbs then nodded. She winced as another spasm of pain came. She bit down on the stick as she felt her kits coming. The first kit came out and it was a tiny calico kit.


Wispkit mewed as she tried to find the milk. Once she found some she latched on and drank.

A brown tabby was the next kit to emerge. He came out flailing and fighting, and his loud news echoed around the nursery. He quickly crawled up to his mother, still squealing, until he found her sweet milk and started to drink it, calming down a bit. He was easily bigger than Wispkit, and he was blocking a large amount of space.

Softcloud grinned, licking the first kit as it was born to break the sac. "It's a little she-kit, Fernstep. She looks healthy to me! Oh! Looks like the other two aren't waiting!" Softcloud immediately turned back to her task at hand, delivering the second two kits. At one point Amberberry came and gave her some more raspberry leaves in which she immediately gave to Fernstep.

Soon, all three kits rested in the curve of their mother's belly. "Two she-kits and tom! I'm sure you'll be a wonderful mother, what will you name them?" She asked, gazing at the kits with affection in her eyes.

Fernstep looked down at her three kits. “The lighter calico can be named Wispkit, the darker one can be bunnykit, and this brown Tom can be Eaglekit.” she mewed licking each kit when she said their names.

Eaglekit felt the warm lick of his mother envelop him. He wriggled away from his mother, trying to explore the new place. Soon he bumped into his sisters, and finally ran into Softcloud. He was sort of confused, but he wanted to know where he was. It wasn’t like the other place. That was small, and warm, and crowded. This place felt bigger and just...different.

Bunnykit was the smallest though she was the fiestest as she climbed over her littermates to get milk.

Softcloud purred as all the kits procceeded to fight, crawling around and whacking each other. With a small 'mrrow' of laughter, she pushed Eaglekit back towards his littermates and mother. "I'll have to keep a close eye on my herb stores, it looks like the little ones take after their mother!" Softcloud teased, purring as she recalled her first time meeting Fernstep.

Fernstep smiled at her oldest friend. “Well, I changed so maybe they will also.” she mewed smiling down at her little bundles of joy.

Eaglekit squealed as the medicine cat pushed him back towards his mother. He heard lots of noises that he couldn’t understand. He decided to ignore them. He was tired. He soon feel asleep against his mother, quietly snoring.
