Waterkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

Today was the day. His first ceremony. And it was for his son! He leapt onto the top of the rock, letting out the familiar call he had heard Ivyfeather use when she was deputy. ”Let all cats old enough to swim gather below the Wet Rock for a clan meeting!” cried out the tom. He watched as the crowd gathered, his mate all with some other warriors, and finally, Waterkit . He hoped that his son knew it was his day, if not it would be a surprise.

Waterkit bounded out of the nursery and towards the rest of his family. He smiled up at his father and grinned from ear to ear. This was going to be his apprentice ceremony and even though he wouldn’t listen to his mentor whoever they were, he was going to be older!

Wolfstorm smiled as he saw his son. ”Waterkit, please step forward. You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to be apprenticed. From this day until you get your warrior name, you will be known as Waterpaw.” he started. Now, who to mentor him? He needed someone responsible, and his first thought was Willowshade, but Waterpaw wouldn’t listen to her. No, he needed a relative. Waterpaw’s mother! ”Your mentor will be Vioeltbriar. She will pass on all of her knowledge to you.” he said, swiftly leaping off the rock top congratulate his son and mate.

Waterpaw padded up to his mother with a lowered head. He now wouldn’t be able to do what he wanted cause his mom would easily notice and make sure he didn’t it. He touched noses with his mother before bounding off too his brother to play.

He was very proud of his youngest sibling. He was becoming an apprentice today! Whitekit watched as their father progressed the ceremony. The kit's eyes were glittering with excitement and curiosity as he waited for the reveal of Waterkit's mentor. He knew he would be getting his own ceremony very soon but this was the next best thing.

"Your mentor will be Violetbriar..." Whitekit bit the inside of his mouth to refrain from letting out a laugh. Their own mother was to be mentoring Waterpaw? She is one of the only ones to be able to keep his brother from causing trouble. This was going to be interesting. At least he knew that his brother was definitely in good paws. Violetbriar would make sure of it.

Directly after the ceremony, he padded up to the two and grinned. "Congrats Waterpaw! Mother's going to shape you up to be a great warrior!" he said with a playful smile. He pressed himself against Violetbriar's side before bounding off, Waterpaw hot on his heels.
