Brightkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Round features creasing into a turbulent expression reminiscent of mild discomfort, Acornpetal was quick and quiet amidst her ascent along the rocky walls of the crumbling caverns. The ensuing shower of debris that dusted the soft earth of the camp was the only initial give away to her intentions, which made the tortoiseshell molly climb all the quicker- obviously attempting to prevent attention from lingering upon her for longer than necessary. Idly winding her tail around her absently shifting paws in a futile attempt for comfort, the young Deputy attempted to swallow down the worst of her misgivings as she redirected her attention to the matter before her.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here beneath the High Ledge for a Clan meeting!"

Brightkit bounded out of the nursery, tail fluffed with excitement. After the whole fiasco with the previous deputy, she wasn't entirely clear on the details, her apprentice ceremony had been temporarily postponed while everything was sorted out. Hanging out with the kits had gotten rather dull and cramped in the past weeks but she was finally going to be an apprentice! She skidded to a halt in front of the High Ledge, tripping herself in the process. Brightkit righted herself, coat now ruffled and slightly dusty after all the work she'd put into grooming beforehand... With a quick shake of her head she settled herself, neatly wrapping her tail around her paws.

Neatly winding her tail around her paws in hopes of further concealing her anxious shifting, Acornpetal turned an apprehensive eye down upon the palpably excited Brightkit- tearing across the cavern as though a fire was hot on her heels. It felt like only a few sunrises ago whenever she had her ceremony, back before the nonsense with the rogues and ShadowClan. Only when the last stragglers made their way to the loosely formed ring of cats did she finally raise her voice once more. "Brightkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to find your place among the Clan." She began, voice carrying a sharp and determined undercurrent that was so unlike her emotional state, ”From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Brightpaw. Leopardspot shall be your mentor and I am confident that she'll pass down everything she has learned."

Leaping off of the looming stone, the Deputy was quick to congratulation her fellow Warrior and her first apprentice.

Brightpaw. She was at long last an apprentice! The newly named apprentice purred as she hopped to her paws, carefully padding over to meet her mentor. She politely touched noses, "I can't wait to get started!" Brightpaw quietly chirped, tail all but vibrating with restrained energy.

Leopardspot nodded back to Acornpetal, then turned to her new apprentice. "Congratulations, Brightpaw. We'll start training tomorrow." She smiled as she touched noses with the younger she-cat.
