A blazing Oak (Closed)

Blazepaw walked into camp from training and his eyes were very tired from glaring at his mentor. He didn't even glare at the cats who walked by him, proof that he was indeed, exhausted. Blazepaw plopped down outside the apprentice den with a mouse in his jaws hoping to get some of his energy back. He hated not being able to warn cats to stay away from him. If he didn't glare, random cats would come up to him and try to get him to be their friend.

Grieving silently. For the death of her mate , apprentice and kits. She sadly wrapped her tail around her paws, as her clanmates went by. Her belly softly grumbled as Oakleap wrapped her tail around her paws. Getting up and stretching forward, Oakleap moved towards the fresh-kill pile. Picking up a squrriel, Oakleap turned around and saw a tired looking apprentice. Blazepaw was it? Curious, the warrior headed over to where he was sitting and sat down. "Long day of training?" Oakleap asked, setting her squrriel down.

Blazepaw looked up at the older queen recognizing her as the one who's whole family died. He felt sorry for the older she-cat and decided he wouldn't push her away. Now of course he was still going to be rude not letting his walls down to a cat he didn't even know. He scoffed irritated, showing her that indeed she was correct. Blazepaw knew that camp knew him as "The mute" but that's just cause he didn't talk to people he didn't trust, meaning most of the camp. As Blazepaw waited for her to speak or just walk away when she realized he didn't speak, he thought about the few cats he did speak to, Lightningstar and featherkit.

"Don't like to speak much huh?" Oakleap stared at the apprentice. "You seem to Sandbreeze as a mentor right? He mentored my mate, Badgerstorm you know. He died a few moons ago. Though you probably already know that. I'm Oakleap by the way." Oakleap took a bite out of her squrriel, surprised about how long the tom managed to stay quiet so long. Must be a skill. She thought.

Blazepaw listened to the she-cat actually a little surprised that she stayed. He nodded along telling her that he was listening and at the mention of his mentor, blazepaw has a disgusted look on his face. His mentor had tried to get the tom to talk and when that didn't work he made sure blazepaw could keep up with the training. Blazepaw knew others would think he was childish for not talking but after he heard of cats betraying their own he didn't want to be the one who was betrayed. He only let his walls down when he knew for certain the cat wouldn't betray him.

Oakleap smiled when the tom nodded. She wanted to know his name now, but she understood if he didn't want to tell her. "Anyways are you enjoying your mouse? It must be very tasty." Oakleap asked, before taking another bite out of the squrriel. "So how are you liking your denmates. I know my son Stormpaw is one of them. He's my only surviving kit by the way."

Blazepaw took a bite out of his mouse and gave oakleap a big smile. When the denmate question was asked he didn't know what to do. All the apprentices left him alone cause he glared at them when they got to close. He didn't know anyone his own age besides featherkit. He knew he should learn their names but didn't see the point, he wasn't going to talk to them. He shook his head to oakleap telling her no to her question.

Oakleap's gaze lowered when the apprentice shook his head. "Ah I see. Well maybe you should try talking to them. You'll get more allies the more friends you have!" Oakleap, silently regretting about she didn't make many friends before Badgerstrom, Firepaw and Pegerinepaw died.

Blazepaw noticed her get sad and tried to think of something to do to make her happy. "U-umm I-im Blazepaw...U-umm I am Mute to everyone i dont trust. Everything will be okay." He mewed quietly to the older cat hoping it at least cheered her up.

Oakleap pricked up her ears and lifted her head at the sound of, Blazepaw was it?, talking. "Oh well Blazepaw is a nice name." Oakleap smiled at the younger tom, hoping that she gained some sort of trust with him

Blazepaw nodded slightly all his walls going back up. He never let them fall that quick before. He wondered what was so special about this she-cat, cause it even took like a day for him to start trusting featherkit and lightningstar.

Oakleap simply smiled at Blazepaw, glad to see him opening up. "You know you seem like a very nice cat Blazepaw. I do hope we can become friends." Oakleap said, looking rather happy.

Blazepaw smiled at the older she-cat as she reminded him of his own mother. "Thank you." He mewed quietly wondering why she was even talking to him. Most of the clan knew he hated others so never came near him, making the young tom very isolated.
