take flight [c]

Lilystream had been less cheerful ever since the loss of her sister. They had been so close, and now she was left with three siblings left, and her mother. Of course she still had such a great family, but the losses were hard, and heavy on her back. Dovepaw had recently been apprenticed, and she was excited to train the young cat. She had never been an early riser, so the camp was already full of hustle and bustle as she woke up. She spotted the white she-cat sitting in camp, and walked over to her with a smile, "Morning, Dovepaw! Would you like to go train?" asked the fluffy she-cat, giving her fur a good shake as she waited for an answer.

Dovepaw shyly looked up at her mentor with a small smile. "Sure!" she mewed her quiet voice trying to get louder to show her excitment but it couldnt. She knew it was all mental but dovepaw really hated her brain for not letting her voice be louder. She got to her paws and shook her thick fur before nodding at lilystream that she was ready to go.

Lilystream smiled back. The apprentice was rather quiet, so she wanted to make sure that Dovepaw felt comfortable. She led her out of camp, a bounce in her step. As they reached a clearing she turned back around, flicking her tail happily. She loved the snow, the way it fluttered down and crunched under your paws. Maybe it was because her thick fur protected her from it’s cold. "What do you want to learn, Dovepaw?" she asked, her eyes lighting up with excitement.

She remembered the feelings she had experienced when she was younger, the excited day-dreaming, the enthusiasm as she learned ro hunt, fight, climb, as she learned what being a warrior was about. Sometimes she missed those days, everything seemed so much simpler. Apprenticehood was a time of it’s own, and things had certainly changed. But deep down the warrior was still the happy she-cat she had once been, even if she was struggling to see that now.

"Hunting! I wanna feed the clan!" she mewed quietly. She saw others hunt so wanted to learn so she could join them.
