At the sound of an obnoxiously chipper voice, Ratpaw couldn't suppress an eye roll. Though his clanmate did this at the break of dawn practically everyday, there was no way the sleek, black pelted tom could get used to it; and the last thing he wanted was to join this busy bee. Until he got a glance of the scarce amount of fresh-kill pile.

"Only if you keep quiet long enough to catch anything."

Ratpaw's muzzle wrinkled in disgust. Sunpaw's obsession with bringing up the warrior code and claiming it was the only thing that bound them was nothing but repulsive. Does it ever stop? Did he ever think about anything else? Whatever. The orange tom had already switched the subject to something a little more interesting. "That's not a bad idea. I'll take you up on that bet, but be prepared to lose." Ratpaw smirked. "I'll give you a headstart."

Ratpaw wasn't far behind, leaping onto a fallen tree to scan the area. His pitch black fur blending in perfectly with the rotting log as long as he lay still. It wasn't long before he hear faint croak from withing the rotten trunk below him and, with slow and silent paw steps, he crept to the opening. A frog!

Unfortunately, he hadn't been silent enough. The frog took one giant leap passed him and disappeared. That was... Embarrassing, to say the least and he felt his fur grow hot as he side eyed his clanmate to make sure he hadn't witnessed that.

Sinking low until his belly almost touched the ground, Ratpaw lay perfectly still with hind legs ready to pounce. He looked at the flame coloured apprentice to do the same.
