Oddpaws' Fancy Footwork [OPEN]

Oddpaw stood in the ShadowClan camp clearing, she felt antsy. She had been an apprentice for a day now and still hadn't had the opportunity to leave camp. In lieu of hunting she decided to practice her fighting moves, perhaps she would practice hunting later?

She barrelled around on the wet floor, imaging her foe, a fearsome warrior. He had her pinned down, how would she get out of his grip? She decided on clawing at his soft, exposed stomach.

He fearsome warrior, flew off her and ran off into the forest, she had won!

Oddpaw gave a mrrw of triumph before imagining yet another fearsome warrior come to fight her. She crouched, ready to strike.

Boredom had hit this little kit hard. Thrushkit padded out of the nursery, carefully looking back a couple of times to make sure he didnt wake his mother. Once he was free, he shook out his fur and looked around camp. "whoah..." he breathed, taking in the sights, at least until he found Oddpaw standing proudly and covered in mud and dirt from her play. Padding up to the newly named apprentice, Thrushkit sat down and watched her. "What are you doing?" he asked.

Oddpaw jumped, she hadn't seen then little kit. She spun around, embarrassed that an apprentice such as herself should be caught playing like a kit. She tried to hold her confidence but stuttered slightly "Uh.. N-nothing, I mean um.. Practising fighting.. ?" she subconsciously flicked her tail around from nerves.

"Practice fighting?" Thrushkit glanced around with a confused look on his face. There was no one else there. "Where is the other cat? Were you practicing alone? Can I practice with you? How do you fight like that?" The spew of questions came one after another with very little time even for breathing. Eventually, the kit did stop and just stared eagerly at Oddpaw.

"U- Uh.." Oddpaw looked at her paws "Sure you can join, it'll help make you a strong warrior" she spoke now more confidently. She squatted to meet the kits' face "The first rule of fighting is you have to be prepared for.. A SURPRISE ATTACK!" she declared. She patted the kit softly between the ears with a sheathed paw.

"H-Hey!" Thrushkit cried out, backing away from the apprentice with a cute little hiss as his hackles raised up and his tiny tail stuck straight into the air. "That's not fair! You have to let me know when you're going to surprise me! That's the rules!" Without another thought, the little tom bounced toward Oddpaw, swiping at her chest with his little paws. "Take that! And that!" Thrushkit hissed.

Oddpaw scrabbled back, pretending to be afraid of the scrap of fur. "Wow you're really good at this!" she enthused.

The little kit paused for a moment, his ears perked and his tail sticking straight up as a smile appeared on his face. "I guess I am!" he mewed. "Can you show me some of your moves?"
