A Sweet Briar Birth [Closed]

Pebblefoot felt a sharp pain in her stomach. My kits! she realized with a jolt. ”Blackpaw!” she cried out. Soon Coalpaw would have some younger siblings. She made her way to the nursery, ready to bring her children into the world.

Blackpaw heard the cry of the queen so he quickly grabbed some borage leaves, wet moss, a stick, and some raspberry leaves. He quickly ran into the nursery and smiled at the mothering Queen. “Everything will be fine, eat these and then bite on the stick when you feel any pain.” he mewed giving her the borage and raspeberry leaves.

Pebblefoot nodded, not wanting to say anything. She quickly ate the herbs and the sharpest pang yet came. She bit down on the stick as the first kit came out of her. She groaned, and soon she had another daughter. A little red she-kit! Her fur was like a rose. Briarkit! It was a lovely name. She touched her nose to her daughter’s pelt. ”Briarkit.” mewed the queen. Soon another pang hit her. It was another daughter. After both kits were born, they were drinking from her milk. ”Sweetkit!” she named the grey and white kit.



Briarkit snuggled close to her mother, suckling on the queen’s milk.

“Congratulations.” he mewed then gave her the wet moss as giving birth made queens thirsty. He gathered up the extra things and left the nursery to put his herbs away.

Coalpaw poked her head into the nursery, golden eyes immediately falling upon the two little kits. "Sisters!" she meowed, softly so as not to disturb them but with pure unadulterated excitement in her tone. Fixing her attention on Blackpaw, she smiled sweetly. "Thank you for taking good care of them." She grinned at her mother and softly licked each of her sister's heads, Briarkit and then Sweetkit. I will make sure your kithood is not as cold as mine, she thought to herself.

Pebblefoot nodded as her older daughter entered the nursery. ”This is Briarkit, and Sweetkit.” she touched her nose to each kit as she spoke.

Briarkit noticed the other entering, and felt the she-cat luck her head. She let out a loving mew towards Coalpaw.

This place was cold and she did not like this at all.

Not one bit. Nope, nada, zip, zero. To express her anger, she did the one thing all kits know how to do. Scream. Loudly. Very loudly. Still screeching, she thrashed about, managing to tangle a paw with Briarkit's, making her screech more. Eventually, she ended up atop of her red-pelted sister. But she wasn't done, oh no. With a defiant shriek, she clambered off of Briarkit, crawling towards a warm source: Coalpaw. Wailing miserably as her tiny stomach grumbled, she swatted her tiny kitten paws, hitting Coalpaw, but doing no more damage than a feather.

Briarkit let out a distressed moan as her sister clambered all over her. She crawled back towards her mother, encased in her warmth. She didn’t like whatever that funny screeching things was. Not yet anyways. The red she-kit squealed as she struggled to find the milk, but did so and drank more, her stomach quickly filling.

Coalpaw chuckled whole-heartedly at Sweetkit writhing her way towards her while screaming like only kits know how. She licked at the kit's tiny cheek and nudged her back towards her mother, still towards a teat but away from Briarkit so that she hopefully wouldn't smack her sister anymore. "I can tell you're hungry, you goofy little monster, leave Briarkit alone," she murmured as she lead the kit back towards her source of food.
