Mothkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

Many of the kits were moving out of the nursery this moon. At a ceremony, you spotted a few kits wondering if it wa s their own, watching with curiosity. Another one of these ceremonies was about to start as Wolfstorm swiftly leapt onto the Willow Branch to call a meeting. ”Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Willow Branch for a clan meeting.” he watched a few kits gather with a smile, keeping an eye out for a particular young tom.

Oh? Was it time? Mothkit barreled out of the nursery with a small push from his mother, she had been fussing over him all morning so his pale golden fur gleamed and was entirely free from tangles for once. He was going to be an apprentice! Learn how to fight and hunt and someday he was going to be a warrior! He hopped in excitement a couple times before he settled himself down by the willow branch. All but vibrating in anticipation.

Wolfstorm spotted the small tom with a smile. As he took a deep breath in, he continued the ceremony. ”Mothkit, you have reached the age of six moons and are ready to be apprenticed.” he echoed the words that had been spoken at the apprentice ceremonies for moons. ”From this day until you get your warrior name, you will be known as Mothpaw. Your mentor will be Minnowstream. I hope she can pass down all of her knowledge to you.” Even though his mate didn’t like the warrior, he had to divvy up the apprentices fairly. He leapt off of the Branch to congratulate the new apprentice.

The silver tabby she-cat wasn't expecting to get another apprentice. In fact she was kind of worried that she wouldn't get another one because her first apprentice had died so early on in training, and that Wolfstorm believed she was a bad mentor. But thankfully as Wolfstorm called her name after making Mothpaw an apprentice, Minnowstream let out a sigh of relief. She padded up to her new apprentice and touched noses with with him. "We'll begin training tomorrow, if your up for it." She said.

Mothpaw quivered with excitement Mothpaw, he was an apprentice now! He turned to look for his new mentor and caught sight of the silver tabby as she came over. "Yeah! I'll be ready tomorrow! I'm gonna be the best!" His large green eyes glimmered with excitement, eager to begin his training.

Whitepaw couldn't help the grin that formed on his face as he observed the confident and energetic kit, named Mothkit, gain his apprentice name. He appreciated the young tom's enthusiasm to train. It reminded him of his brother, Waterpaw. It also reminded him a bit of himself. He was proud of how much their clan was growing. It felt good to be a witness of this amazing progress.

"Mothpaw! Congrats! I'm sure you're going to be a great warrior in due time. Keep an open mind in any situation m'kay? Don't let anything cloud your judgement...Hopefully we can hang out whenever you're able to! Good luck to both of you!" Whitepaw said as he nudged the smaller apprentice then turned to nod at his aunt. He offered them both one last grin before walking away.
