Splashkit's apprentice ceremony

Grasssnake hopped onto the jaggedrock, a cold soft breeze in the air. As he sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws, he called out into the clearing, his voice still a bit unsure. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Splashkit padded out of the nursery with her mother. The little kit was now old enough to be apprentice so this would be the first time leaving her mother. Splashkit wanted every second to not be wasted so even when they sat down, Splashkit cuddled up to her. She smiled up at grasssnake as everyone gathered around.

As Grasssnake saw the kit in question, he let out a small huff before speaking. "Splashkit you have reached the age of 6 moons. So from this day forward until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Splashpaw. Your mentor will Sootheart. That is all." He hoped he said the right words.

Splashpaw with one last goodbye to her mom, stood up and padded over to sootheart with a small smile. "I hope I can be a good apprentice to you." she mewed softly.

Toadspeckle sat with Splashpaw until Grasssnake had named her daughter’s mentor. With a small purr, she gave Splashpaw an affectionate lick behind the ear before the young apprentice moved forward to meet her mentor. With the rest of ShadowClan, Toadspeckle raised her voice in the customary cheer. “Splashpaw! Slashpaw!”
