Patchpaws Apprentice Party [OPEN]

Patchpaw stretched his legs, sleeping in the Apprentice's den reminded him of how excited he was to be an apprentice. He walked out into the clearing to get a good view of his home. Letting out a huge yawn he thought 'What shall I do today? Hunt? Clean out the Elders?'. He stood awhile thinking about what he should do.

Fernpaw padded into camp with a mouse in her jaws. She went out hunting early just to feel the morning breeze in her brown fur. She noticed patch paw and gently set the mouse down in the prey pile and padded over. “Hello new apprentice.” she laughed with a mix of a purr. “How are you liking it so far?” she mewed.

Patchpaw mrrwd delighted at Fernpaws question "It's great to finally be able to leave camp!" he said "I can finally go hunting!"

Some rustling could be heard coming from the nursery as Ebonykit dashed out. Being the only kit left in there, it got boring rather quickly, so none could blame her for wanting to spend as little time in there as possible…right? Plus, this was Oddpaw’s first formal day as an apprentice, and she wanted to congratulate him…and maybe ask a couple questions here and there.

Older apprentices rarely paid too much attention to kits, too busy living the dream of a future warriorhood to care. But with Patchpaw being freshly out of the nursery and into said life, he would surely be willing to share tongues for a bit with a little fuzzball like her…yes, yes, it made perfect sense! If she was lucky, she would even be able to get some info on training and overall apprentice life tips and tricks from him!

With quick steps over the still frozen terrain, she made her way towards the gathering group of apprentices. Would all of them be Moor Runners? Is it possible maybe one was a tunneler? More question to the pile “Hello! You out training already? Or still have free time?” She tried to be polite and make sure she wasn’t being an obstacle on a potential busy scheduled day, but…dear StarClan if she wasn’t tempted to just flood the older cats with questions from the get-go.

Fernpaw smiled at Patchpaw. “Maybe we could go hunting some day.” she mewed then noticed the small little kit. “Why hello.” the older apprentice said then looked at Patchpaw with a gleam in her eyes which meant one thing, she was planning something.

Patchpaw glanced at Fernpaw, he always knew when she was up to something. He shot her a warning glance, he wouldn't want to upset a kit on his first day. He looked down at the bundle of fluff 'What a friendly kit!' he thought to himself. He got down so he was at the kits height "Hello there, of course we have some free time for a cute kit like you!" He said, giving the kit a friendly purr "What's your name?".

A white and cream-colored tom emerged from the apprentice's den, blinking sleep from his eyes. Rimepaw was rarely a cat to oversleep, but for whatever reason today he had not been able to rouse himself from his dreams. His stomach grumbled loudly, betraying his presence to the other cats, and Rimepaw took on an appropriately sheepish look as a result.

"Hello," he mumbled, moderately embarrassed. He padded over to the prey pile and selected a small vole for a morning snack before settling down near the small gathering of young cats. "What are you all up to?"

Patchpaw turned to the apprentice "Oh, nothing much Rimepaw. I was thinking of going for a hunt". Patchpaw let out a mighty yawn "Maybe the camp needs more fresh kill". He stretched, all his stiff limbs making a small cracking noise.

“Hello!” Whether it was because she was too young to properly identify it, or because of her excitement, Ebonykit failed completely at noticing the glint on Fernpaw’s eye, which probably meant she was lucky Patchpaw decided to silently intervene. She almost bounced in her place when the older group of cats didn’t shoo her away “I’m Ebonykit! Future tunneler!” She smiled widely as her front maws moved in a way that mimicked digging for a second or two. While it was true that her parents were still trying to pick her future path to take, she had already made up her mind all on her own.

Upon hearing the new apprentice approaching and the plans Patchpaw had, words came out from her mouth before she could really think them through, yellow eyes open wide “Oh! Oh! Did your mentor already share hunting secrets with you? That is so cool!” She had heard that every warrior had a secret or two they would pass down to their apprentices that made their hunting styles unique. Techniques they had developed during their many moons of experience…and being the knowledge-thirsty kit, she was, she wanted to know them all…but just as she was going to ask something stopped her with her mouth open.

Would…would it be rude to ask about hunting secrets like that?

Fernpaw smiled at the kit after rolling her eyes at Patchpaw. “Hunting sounds like a fun idea but why don’t we play with ebonykit, It’s been a while since me and rime have been kits and it will be fun.” she mewed giving kitten eyes at patch knowing he could never say no to her.

(Didn’t want to leave ebony alone and Badger is alrdy taking a kit out of camp so I don’t want to do that with fern lol)

Patchpaw blinked at Fernpaw and turned to Ebonykit, "It's a pleasure meeting you Ebonykit! I would show you my mentors hunting secrets but then they wouldn't be very secret!" He let out an amused purr "How about instead we teach you a few fighting tricks?".

Patchpaw got down on his haunches so he was eye level with the kit. So if she said yes he wouldn't be caught off guard with a surprise attack. As he did he touched his tail against Fernpaws paw, signalling her to be prepared for some fun fighting lessons.
