Lilykit's Apprentice Ceremony

So many ceremonies. It was a great problem to have but wow. Sorrelwing hopped to her usual place. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Lilykit ran out of the nursery. Surely today would be her ceremony! She groomed her pelt quickly, standing there, waiting for the rest of the ceremony. Finally she would join her siblings in the apprentice den.

Breezebranch gave Lilykit a lick behind the ears."Now, sweetpea, you must do as Sorrelwing says and when she gives you a mentor, go touch noses. Wait until she speaks, alright?" Breezebranch explained, nuzzling Lilykit's furry cheek.

Lilykit nodded. ”Ok.” she smiled at her mother, waiting for what was to happen.

Sorrelwing glanced down to make sure everyone was in place. "Today we gather to make this kit an apprentice. Lilykit, please step forward."

Lilykit followed the deputy’s instructions, stepping forward. She continued looking up at Sorrelwing.

Breezebranch watched her daughter with love-filled eyes. Maplepaw's mentor was Silverstar. Who would Lilykit get?

She looked down at the kit. "You have reached the age of six moons which means it's time to start your training. Lilykit, from now until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Lilypaw. Your mentor will be Hawkflight. May she teach you everything that she knows."

Lilypaw smiled, running to touch noses with her mentor. She then hurried back towards her mother, beaming. ”This is so cool!” she exclaimed.
