Icekit’s Apprentice Ceremony

Now, the clan was growing. They had gone a few moons without any kits, but a few new litters had brought new life. Another one of those kits, a white she-cat, would be joining many others in the apprentice den. He leapt onto the Wet Rock, letting out the call. “Let all cats old enough to swim gather below the Wet Rock for a clan meeting!”[size] Wolfstorm watched the clan gathering, and soon, among the crowd he spotted Icekit. The tom smiled down towards her.[/size]

Whitepaw sat down with the rest of the clan after his father called for a clan meeting. He assumed this to be an apprentice ceremony for either one of the two kits he had met before or one of his other siblings. He felt glad that the clan was growing. There were ceremonies very often now and that made him feel excitement bubble up in his chest. He'd have more denmates to train and get to know. He was all up for that!

Icekit glanced at Wolfstorm. He was... smiling at her? That just made her feel more nervous, but nothing bad could really come out of this ceremony. So Icekit took a deep breath and glanced at her pelt, making sure not a hair was out of place. When she found herself satisfactory, she strode out fo the nursery and sat down, waiting eagerly to find out who her mentor would be.

Waterpaw bounded to the meeting knowing it was for his friend, Icekit. The she-cat was about to become an apprentice and join him and his brother in the apprentice den. If she tried to take their bed she would have another thing coming as Waterpaw did not like sharing his bed with anyone but his brother. Waterpaw sat down next to Icekit and whitepaw and smiled up at his father, Wolfstorm, Happily.

Icekit’s nervousness made him chuckle quietly. It wasn’t very uncommon, altoigh the fear was pretty unrationalized. ”Icekit, please step forward. You have reached the age of 6 moons and are ready to be apprenticed. From this day until you get your warrior name, you will be known as Icepaw. Your mentor will be Minnowstream, and I hope she will pass on all of her knowledge to you.” Wolfstorm mewed, and leapt off the rock. Honestly, he had been reluctant to even five Minnowstream an apprentices, but maybe it would help her grow more mature.

Minnowstream was cleaning herself when she heard her name. An apprentice? Minnowstream padded up to Icepaw. "I'll train ya well." Minnowstream meowed as touched noses with young apprentice.

Icepaw's blue eyes traveled to her mentor, and she offered a small nod before tapping noses. "And I'll work hard." Icepaw had no clue what being an apprentice would be like, but surely it'd be better than a kit? She grinned and bounded to her paws. "When do we start?"

"Tomorrow, right at the break of dawn." Minnowstream said.

Whitepaw grinned when Minnowstream's name was called to be Icepaw's mentor. His auntie was real cool so he knew Icepaw would be in good paws. She'd end up to be a great warrior. In his opinion, finding out a new apprentice's mentor was the best part. He liked to make guesses in his head but he hasn't had luck on getting any correct. He'd have to step up his game then. He strives to get at least one right in the future.

The tom padded up to the two she-cats after they touched noses and the ceremony was officially concluded. Once close enough, he shot them both a charming grin. "Congrats on becoming an apprentice Icepaw! Minnowstream is great. I know that with her training, you'll be an awesome warrior one day." he said enthusiastically. He gave them both a quick nod before heading away where his brother was currently standing.
