Here We Go Again! [Open]

Lilypaw was so glad for a Waterpaw in so many ways. First, he had saved her from drowning. Next, he had saved her from the dog. And just now he had helped her come back to camp. She was sure he was injured as well, that dog was huge and very powerful. She looked at his stained pelt, drips of red blood. She wondered what his parents would think. His father had seemed nice, the new deputy, but she didn’t know his mother. If she was anything like Breezebranch, she would be very concerned.

Breezebranch would be very concerned. And the rest of Skyclan, really. Another sinking feeling filled her stomach. This was her second time bringing a strange tom into camp. Would they trust her again? But it’s not like she was asking for him to stay, just having him help her into camp. She wouldn’t have made it on her own. As they finally reached the familiar clearing, she let out a sigh of relief. Her eyes darted around for Mistedsong, gesturing towards the medicine for Waterpaw to stumble along with her.

Waterpaw was limping next to lilypaw as he tried to take her back home. He knew he should get going back to but his leg was unbearable as he walked on it so he decided he would get help from skyclans medicine cat before he left to go back home. He was nervous to enter Skyclan camp but knew they wouldn’t hurt him as he saved one of their own.

The distressed mew came from the fresh-kill pile as an anxious queen bounded over, roughly pushing aside the tom, hardly even registering he was there. Every fiber in her body executed peer terror and fear. Was she hurt? Was she sick? Was that blood!? "We're taking you to Blizzardpaw and Mistedsong, right now!" The queen decided, wrapping her tail around her kit as she ushered her away. "MIstedsong! Lilypaw is hurt, and she positively reeks of dog!"

Turned her head, she seemed to finally realize there was a strange tom in camp, and he, too, was injured. "Well? Whatever are you waiting for? Do you want to be healed or not?" Breezebranch called before turning to her daughter. "Now! What in StarClan's name possessed you to wander about by yourself and pick a fight with a dog! Young missy, I'll have you know, that was extremely reckless of you. Why, I was worried sick! There's practically a hole in the ground from all my pacing." She scolded, licking Lilypaw's head with a worried affection.

Hailpaw looked up to see his friend Lilypaw and a tom. Then he watched as his mentor pushed over the tom. "Uh Breezebranch. I think you hurt her friend." Hailpaw said while running over to them.

Lilypaw heard it. The familiar voice of her mother. It was comforting. Soon she found herself beside Breezebranch, and she smiled. Then she glanced back at Waterpaw, mouthing, ‘Sorry’. She shrugged as her mother licked her head, and was soon in the medicine den. She winced as she lowered herself down. She wondered if Waterpaw would get healed. He better! He had saved her, multiple times. He deserved that.

Waterpaw was in pain as he was guessing Lilypaw’s mother came crashing in. She shoved him to the side and he landed on his bad leg which made him wince as he didn’t want to seem weak in the different clan. He wobbled to his legs and limped after the two she-cats to the medicine den. He gave a slight nod to the white apprentice telling him that he was fine.

The snoozing medicine cat dimly registered the commotion as he blinked his green eyes open blearily, looking out of the entrance of his den just in time to see Breezebranch completely knock over a visibly injured apprentice. Mistedsong shook his head and stood to support the unfamiliar white cat as the three cats pushed into his den. "Come, there's nests you can rest in," he meowed, already knowing what happened just based on the awful stench of dog wafting off of the two cats.

After he helped the apprentice-- RiverClan, he finally figured out after he got used to the dog smell-- to a nest, the grey tom ducked into the back part of his den, collecting herbs left and right. After gathering a sizeable wad of cobwebs, Mistedsong brought the herbs around to the two apprentices, combing over them both to assess their injuries. "What's your name?" he asked of the white apprentice, examining his very broken leg gently. He frowned, and laid a few poppy seeds down for both cats. "Eat these so that they can start working sooner, they'll help with the pain," he meowed, returning to the stores to grab a couple of sticks as well as broom and rush for the RiverClan cat's leg.

As neither cat was in immediate danger of bleeding out, Mistedsong began preparing a mixture of herbs to apply to the wounds before webbing them. He chewed together a pulp of tormentil, goldenrod and marigold, applying the sticky bitter mixture to the larger cuts before packing them with cobwebs to stop any bleeding. The smaller scratches were treated with dock leaves, the tom issuing soft apologies as he squeezed the juice of the leaves into the cuts, which was sure to sting as it disinfected them.

Once the more immediate problems were dealt with, including the large wounds on the white apprentice's leg, he saw to setting his broken leg. "This is not going to feel good," he meowed apologetically, offering the tom a stick to bite down on before attempting to jerk the bones back into place with a sickening crunch. Mistedsong frowned deeply as he stepped away to prepare a splint-- he wasn't exactly satisfied with the results, but he left it as it was, afraid of causing any more damage and it was definitely better than it had been. He placed two sticks on either side of his leg, wrapping long stalks of rush around it to bind into place. If only Blizzardpaw weren't gathering herbs.. this would have been a useful moment of instruction.

The medicine cat sat back, surveying the two cats thoughtfully. "Is there anything I missed? Anything else that hurts, that I could possibly do for you two?"
