Brightpaw stretched as she clambered to her paws, short tail swishing excitedly. Going on patrol with Iceheart! Just going out of camp was still exhilarating among the tall pine trees! She didn't know the warrior particularly well but he seemed really cool. She purred to herself at the pun. Trotting out of the den she looked around for the white tom. Brightpaw settled outside the apprentice den, giving her shoulder a couple licks as she waited for Iceheart for their patrol.

Iceheart stood up from his nest and stretched, shaking his snowy white coat of any debris. He padded out of the den and approached the apprentice as she groomed herself and gave her an unceremonious flick with his tail. "Let's get going. We're supposed to be checking the border near Windclan. You up for a bit of a walk?" he asked, gazing at her through his mismatched eyes.

Brightpaw jumped and let out a surprised squeak, not having heard Iceheart's approach. Would she be that quiet someday? She hopped to her paws, short tail swishing in excitement. "Yeah, I'm ready for anything!"
