Kit chatter [open]

A small ball of fluff poked his head out of the nursery, his pale fur standing out against the oranges and browns of Leaf-fall. The sun was already relatively high in the sky, shining it's rays down on the Thunderclan camp. Despite that, the creeping chill of Leaf-fall still managed to find it's way into Galekit's pelt. With a small shiver, the young tom trotted into the center of camp, looking for something- or someone- to entertain him. Being by himself wasn't something he much enjoyed, he always wanted to make sure he was nearby someone, preferably someone who he could talk to. It wasn't because he was worried or anything, he simply liked the feeling of being close to someone. Glancing over on the other side of camp, he spotted his brother, Rowankit. "Hey there Rowankit, how are you?" He asked, a friendly smile on his face. Siblings often spent time together, right? Why shouldn't they?

Rowankit was nestled by the elder's den, fluffy tail wrapped around himself as he sat motionless, deep in thought. The elder's had been telling him old stories of ancient warriors and Starclan, but had recently retired back inside the den to escape the chilly, leaf-fall winds. The sun still provided a pleasant warmth, but not quite enough to fully counteract the heat sapping breeze, though Rowankit didn't particularly mind, it was far colder at night when camp was lit solely by the light of the moon and stars.

His ear twitched as Galekit trotted over. With a slow blink, he turned to look at his brother. "Hey Galekit." he murmured, face flat and emotionless as his thoughts drifted back to the old stories. "Do you think it's forever?" He abruptly asked after a long pause. It seemed like it couldn't be forever, how would there be enough room for everyone? But he'd also certainly never heard any stories otherwise...

Galekit's exit from the nursery had caught Tawnykit's attention. She sat up from her nest and let out a yawn before stretching, her tiny claws digging into the warm moss and soft earth. "Wait up!" She called out as she darted out after her nursery mate. Stopping short of the two siblings, Tawnykit cocked her head at the older kitty's question. "What's forever?" It was a strange question but the young kit was too curious about the answer to think about how out of place it seemed.

Looking behind him, Galekit spotted Tawnykit following him out of the den. Turning back toward Rowankit, he took a moment and tried to register what exactly the tom had asked him. "Wha-...What?" A confused look crossed his face as he tried to read his brother's expression. It was no use, he could never tell what his brother was thinking, he didn't think any cat could. With a soft sigh he leaned toward Tawnykit and whispered into her ear. "Do you have any idea what he's talking about?"

After another pause, Rowankit turned his head, blinking slowly as he acknowledged Tawnykit's presence. His brow wrinkled in vague annoyance at the question. "Starclan," he softly mewed in answer as if that were an adequate explanation. "How would there be enough room for everybody?" His bushy brown tail swooshed across the ground as he pondered silently. But if it wasn't forever what happened after? Did Starclan have their own Starclan? Or did they just... disappear? Or something else entirely?
The elders loved how good of a listener he was and were always thrilled to tell him the old stories but... It seemed like they always needed a nap when he tried to ask about Starclan...

When Galekit whispered to her, Tawnykit glanced at him and shook her head, only snapping her attention back to Rowankit as he finally answered only with an even stranger question. Of course Starclan could hold every cat! As for how... Well, Tawnykit didnt know. "Uh..." she stammered, finally sitting down and wrapping her tail tightly around her legs. "Of course its forever! Why wouldnt it be? You cant go hungry because theres endless prey! And perfect weather! At least, that's what the queens have been telling me." Thinking about it made Tawnykit feel small; so much smaller than she had ever felt in her short little life which reflected in her shrinking posture.

"Maybe... maybe the territory just keeps expanding, or there's just a really really big camp." The young tom pondered the question. He himself never really had too many thoughts about Starclan, so he was really at a loss for a well thought out answer. After shaking out his fluffy fur, Galekit sat down, desperately wanting to change the conversation topic. He himself wasn't very interested, and he wasn't sure about Tawnykit, but he needed to find a polite way to do it. Maybe he could ask how their day was or something of the sort? " So, what have you guys been up to? Anything interesting going on?"

Ebonykit wandered from their small corner in the nursery, a bit self concious of their ungroomed, mossy fur. They stumbled as they walked, still drowsy from slleping late. They took a seat in the middle, everyone staring, and clenched their eyes shut, waiting for the insults to roll in.

Rowankit nodded thoughtfully. He'd also heard such stories of bountiful prey and endless perfect weather but Galekit's idea of an expanding territory certainly had merit and was worth some consideration. He glanced over at Ebonykit for a moment before refocusing on Galekit. He flicked his fluffy brown tail over his paws before responding. "I was speaking with the elders but they all went back inside because of the wind." After a pause he tipped his head, "It doesn't seem particularly cold to me." he murmured to himself.

Tawnykit quickly turned at the sound of Ebonykit stumbling out of the nursery and gave an excited greeting before turning back to the other two kits to answer them, first looking Rowankit over and rolled her eyes. "That's because you have enough fur to cover at least two kits, Rowankit!" Then, she stood back up and shook out her pelt, turning to Galekit. "I'm going to be an apprentice soon!" She mewed proudly. "I cant wait to get out of camp for the first time! I want to see what the river looks like since I keep hearing about it!"

The tom's opinions on becoming an apprentice were quite mixed. On one paw, he would be able to take care of the clan and be able to explore and do his part. On the other, that would mean less socializing and spending time with his friends. Unsure of "Oh yeah, becoming an apprentice sounds exciting. I'm going to miss spending time with you guys though." He paused, taking time to register what else had been said. "You want to see the river? Haven't cats got swept away by it? No offence, but i don't see you as a river kind of cat." He let out a chuckle and nudged Tawnykit playfully.
