With the recent installment of sickness spreading throughout the forest and how to his clan, Lightningstar had decided that it would be best not to attend this month's gathering, as did the other leaders, or so he'd heard from some passing border patrols. He had been lucky enough to not contract any sickness himself, but he wasn't counting his blessings just yet. A good chunk of his clan had grown ill and it wasn't as though he could just steer clear of his own clanmates when he needed to assist in caring for them.
Making his way up onto the top of High Rock, being conscientious of the ice that may be formed and using his tail to wipe away the snow from his usual spot, the large leader sat down.
"ThunderClan, please meet me bellow High Rock," his deep voice called out as he waited for the ever-slow-moving clan to gather bellow. "As most of you could tell, we did not attend this moon's gathering. A sickness has spread through the forest and until we know how detrimental it is, we will keep to ourselves. If you are sick, go Rowanpaw for herbs," Lightningstar spoke, his yellow gaze skimming the growing crowd bellow. It hurt him thinking about Applestem running among the stars now, but what was done was done and there wasn't anything he could've done to change her fate. Hopefully, Rowanpaw would take his official medicine cat name soon so that ThunderClan could have both a medicine cat and a medicine cat apprentice in these trying times...

Hearing his father's call, Bigfoot dragged himself out of his nest. It wasn't like him to ever get sick, but here he was and he felt horrible. His chest ached and his usual appetite was non-existent. Lumbering out of the warrior's den, the large pawed warrior plopped himself down near the edge of the crowd. It was far too cold to be outside right now and he hoped Lightningstar would hurry so he could return to his warm nest.
Listening to the leader, a thought donned on him; with all the sickness running amuck in the forest... he wondered if Brightpaw was alright. She was strong, but also much smaller than he was and with much less fur to keep her warm, and while he didn't want to assume the worst, one could never be too sure.
