A soft squishy sound could be heard as the unknown cat crossed the scent markings that limited the territory belonging to ShadowClan, he was exploring more than hunting, so being silent wasn’t exactly a top priority in his mind at the current time…then again he was still careful enough to not be overly-loud and give out his position to everyone around him, as well as to have the wind on his side to keep his scent from drifting into the marsh.
Some moons ago, he probably wouldn’t have dared to walk into these territories with such confidence, but every rogue had noticed the sudden lack of activity coming from the wild cats that inhabited these territories. Borders previously furiously patrolled 24/7 had been left unattended for days, and scent markings so strong one could smell them before even getting close to them now were barely there.
Rumors circulated the unclaimed territories and the twoleg place about how and why the wild cats had suddenly gone from an army none dared to challenge, to little more than organized groups struggling to keep their territories like they did before.
But one thing was obvious…they no longer had the numbers to stop them.
He wasn’t the first one to take advantage of this to set paw into these previously forbidden lands, and he was neither going to be the last one to do so, he just knew that. These territories held way better prey than most of the other territories those without a group on the forest to rely on were forced to hunt to survive, no sane cat would let such an opportunity to slip by…
Yet, for once, his mind wasn’t on the food, but on these mysterious and aggressive clan cats. From their strange culture to their unique skills. Not only was he interested in the potential knowledge he could gather about them in general, but on the potential opportunities this knowledge could bring him. Few cats had been able to interact with the wild cats before beyond being attacked or hissed at whenever they came too close or crossed the borders.
