Maplekit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all celts old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Highrock for a clan meeting!" Sorrelwing yowled after jumping up to her place.

Maplekit poked his head out of the nursery, his eyes growing wide with curiosity. What was the meeting for? He'd skittered out of the nursery, only to stop a few feet infront of the nursery, wide-eyed up at Sorrelwing.

As the kit appeared and took his place with the other cats, Sorrelwing continued. "Today we gather to make this kit an apprentice. Maplekit, please step forward."

Maplekit's ears burned slightly at the attention being focused on him, and he bounced forward. He gazed upwards at Sorrelwing, his tail swishing in excitement.

Breezebranch purred as her only son from her litter stepped forward. Who would his mentor be? Oh, this was exciting!

"You have reached the age of six moons and must soon start your training. From now on until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Maplepaw. Your mentor will be Silverstar. He will teach you well!" Sorrelwing mewed as she leaped down from the rock.

Silverstar's eyes blinked in mild surprise as he was chosen to be a mentor. He nodded to Sorrelwing in approval, saying "Thank you," before approaching the newly named Maplepaw and touched noses with him, as per usual with apprentice ceremonies. The cat was so... excited. He took a pace backwards to speak with Maplepaw directly. "Your training will begin tomorrow. Until then, Maplepaw. Congratulations," he said, before turning around and taking a few more steps away. As he sat down facing Maplepaw, he lifted his head up to hear the clan begin their chants to celebrate the newly named apprentice.

Maplekit- well, now Maplepaw had hurried forward and touched noses with his new mentor. He nearly tripped over his own paws in excitement, kind of accidentally headbutting Silverstar as he ran forward. He quickly had jolted his head away, his ears warm after nearly tripping into them. He turned his head as the rest of the clan chanted his name, he whispering his new name to himself, too.
