A learning opportunity (Closed)

Shrikepaw couldn't hide the surprise on her face. She didn't realize that anyone in the Clan would mention her name often enough for Swiftpaw to pick it up. Then again, her mother probably talked about her like she would crowfood. "Thank you, Swiftpaw." She said softly.

Swiftpaw smiled and licked shrikepaw’s paw. She enjoyed having a cat outside of her family that she could hang out with. “Means friend.” she said after she saw shrikes’ confused look.

Shrikepaw definitely did look confused for a moment, but she was pleased with the explanation. She'd never really had a friend before, not a close one anyway. Most didn't bother to see beneath her prickly exterior and face that just looked grumpy no matter what.

She bent and gave Swiftpaw a lick on the paw in return.

Swiftpaw yawned before looking at the sky. It was starting to get dark and knew he mom would be worried if they didn’t get back home. Her mom would be furious since Swiftpaw was hanging out with Shrikepaw but at least Swiftpaw was safe.

It was getting rather late. Shrikepaw flicked her tail gently against Swiftpaw's shoulder. "About time to head home, I think." She said, turning back towards camp.

Swiftpaw followed after Shrikepaw as they headed home.
