The Blinding Badger (Closed)

BadgerStorm was assigned to go on a hunting patrol with his mate and apprentices so as the sun started to rise he padded over to the apprentice den. “Silverpaw, Ferretpaw, Stormpaw! Wake up! Time to go on a hunting patrol!“ he mewed and than waited at the entrance with his mate by his side.


(Everyone will catch something and than the badger will come)

Ferretpaw had been sleeping peacefully until awoken by her older brother. The young she-cat stood up, padding out of the den. Many Thunderclanners would be joining them, and she was excited to hunt. The silver tabby soon stood beside Oakleap and Badgerstorm, and watched as Silverpaw and Stormpaw emerged from the den.

Great! Going hunting! Stormpaw trotted out of the apprentice's den to join Ferretpaw.

Oakleap stood beside her mate and watched as Ferretpaw and Stormpaw padded out. Now they just had to wait for Silverpaw.

Silverpaw’s ears perked up, and she went out of the apprentice’s den. “I’m here! I’m here. Ok, let’s go hunting!” She didn’t really know any of the other apprentices, but she could meet new cats...rifht? She attempted a small smile at all of them, shuffling her paws nervously.

BadgerStorm nodded in greeting as his apprentices and smiled as Silverpaw came out but she looked nervous. “Silverpaw, these are my other apprentices. This is my sister Ferretpaw, and my son Stormpaw. This beauty of a tabby next to me is my mate, Oakleap.” He mewed smirking at his mate before getting to his paws.

“Okay, let’s go, follow me.” He mewed and started to pad about of camp. He made sure they followed After him before continuing.

Stormpaw followed his father close, but from time to time he took peeks at the other two apprentices, especially Silverpaw. He was not familiar with this young cat, which made him a little nervous.

Ferretpaw dipped her head in greeting to Silverpaw. She already knew her nephew, Stormpaw, and her brother, Badgerstorm, and of course, his mate Oakleap. She padded out, following her black and white brother. ”So, how has everyone been?” she asked the small hunting party.

Oakleap blush when Badgerstorm called him beautful. She followed out behind him. "I would've had Honeypaw come with us but I think we'll be a bit busy taking care of the 3 of you."

Silverpaw felt Stormpaw gaze at her and flinched slightly uncomfortably. The rest of the apprentices all knew each other and were pretty much family. Silverpaw felt like an outcast. When Ferretpaw dipped her head in greeting, Silverpaw, feeling relieved, returned the gesture. Glancing at her mentor, Silverpaw asked, “So...where are we hunting today?”

Badgerstorm smiled as his apprentices got to know each other. "I'm doing good sister. We will be hunting a little ways off from the great oak." He mewed and as they walked they all talked about how everything was going.

Once they got to the hunting area Badgerstorm made sure there wasn't any predators  before going off after a mouse. He stalked the small creature before pouncing. He padded back with the mouse limp in his jaws.

Stormpaw followed his mentor to the hunting grounds. He still remembered his first hunt where he failed to catch that squirrel...then running into a dangerous fox.
He shook his head to stop thinking about that. Mouse scent scattered all around. It was not difficult for him to spot one. And this time, StarClan favored him. He quickly caught the mouse with his powerful jaws.

Ferretpaw stood by her brother with a small smile, before he set off to hunt a mouse. The smaller apprentice, Stormpaw, also started to hunt. She saw a squirrel, and carefully stalked the fluffy tail emerging from the grass, hoping to catch it. She hoped to be a warrior someday, and showing off her talent would help. One of the older cats could give her father, Lightningstar a bit of info on that. Leaping to kill it quickly, she bounded back with the limp body of a once jubilant at mammal in her maw, giving a cool nod to the others in the patrol. It hid her excitement at making such a skillful catch.

Oakleap smiled at her son's and Ferretpaw's catches. "Good job you too!" She said.

Stormpaw held the mouse proudly in his mouth as his mother complimented his hunting. What's next? He dropped his kill and took a deep breath, trying to catch scent of any careless prey in the woods. The woods seemed to be a little too quiet.
