Watch your Step [closed]

Jasperpaw had been waiting to go out with Willowshade for a good bit of time. It had been all too long since her last training session. With the season changing, she hadn't taken too well to the increase of heat, becoming fairly ill for a good bit of time. But now, she felt much better, and was ready to train once again.

Throughout his life, Rimefang had spent very little time around the RiverClan end of WindClan's territory, preferring to stay as close to the center of the open moors as possible. That day, though, he was chasing a particularly stubborn rabbit and when he finally sunk his claws into its hind leg and barreled to a stop, he realized he was mere fox-lengths from the gorge that marked their border. Thank you StarClan for not making me a little bit slower, he thought as he delivered the killing blow.

Something he couldn't name seized the tom, and he padded over to the edge of the gorge, peering into its depths out of sheer curiosity. His mind helpfully provided him with the mental image of rolling right into the gorge and never coming back out, and he shook out his pelt to clear his head of the image. As he looked up and went to turn back towards his territory, his eyes caught those of a she-cat on the other side. Her amber eyes sent a chill down the normally stoic tom's spine, and his paws felt rooted to the ground where he stood, muscles locked as he froze in awe of her beauty.

The marbled molly had found her curious paws taking her towards one of the borders. Sunningrocks of course was a popular location for many - but with colder times coming, it seemed that fewer and fewer cats were enjoying the warmth of the smooth, flat pebbles. Of course, without her mentor around, she had to be somewhat cautious. Having certainly come into her age and appearing much more like the warriors around her, the control and mastery over her body still spoke youth. With the gorge providing a slight breeze to otherwise stagnant air, the unfamiliar scent of another Clan tickled her nostrils.

Recognition flicked within her mind. "Windclan," her mind prompted. Jasperpaw recalled one of the trips around the border that Willowshade had taken her on. Studying across the massive death-trap that linked the two Clans, her gaze eventually settled upon a masked frame. Her tail rolled in curiosity, a very slight tilt of her head accompanying the apprentice smelling the air once more. Wondering why the tom seemed to be frozen as if caught on the Thunderpath, she slowly approached closer, extremely mindful of just how easily she could slip and potentially tumble to her death. "Y-you alright?"
