Fernkit's Apprentice Ceremony

The smooth, well-worn stone of the Tallrock was shimmering faintly, the chilly light of day reflecting upon the soft dusting of frost. Brindleface's fur caught softly on the tendrils of ice, a faintly evident rustling sound just barley noticeable above the breeze, as she pulled herself atop the ceremonial meeting place. Straightening up, the Deputy’s voice rang out with a sharp note of purpose as she called out the familiar summons, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!"

Fernkit padded out of the nursery with her fluffy fur groomed and shining. She noticed softpaw and dogged out of the way before heading to the front of the line of cats. I can’t believe I’m finally app, that means I will have to prank less. She complained in her head as she sat down looking up at the rock.

Neatly winding her tail around her paws, Brindleface allowed herself the luxury of a brief smirk as she gazed down at Fernkit, taking careful note of the young she-kit's well-manicured appearance. Only when the last stragglers made their way to the loosely formed ring of cats did she finally raise her voice once more. "Fernkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to find your place among the Clan." She began, voice carrying a sharp and determined undercurrent, "From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Fernpaw. Mudmask shall be your mentor and I am confident that he'll pass down everything he has learned."

Leaping off of the looming stone, the Deputy was quick to congratulation her younger sibling and his new Apprentice.

Mudmask's ears rose up at the calling of his name. For a second, he remained stunned, quickly turning his face to see his older sister. Was she... really trusting him this job so young? No one in the clan seemed to see his potential even though he obviously had it so this... was one of the most marvellous surprises! A smile grew on his face as he soon stood up and trotted to meet his apprentice, Fernkit. The tom lowered his head and touched noses with the she-kit, making the bond mentor-apprentice official. "Don't you worry, kid! You'll be a warrior in no time!" If he trained her good and fast... there would be no doubt Wildstar will finally notice him as the great warrior he is meant to be.
