Some Family Time (Closed)

Swiftpaw was sleeping soundlessly in the middle of camp. She didn’t have anything to do so resting was the first best thing she came up with.

Lilypaw had seen her sister snoozing and nudged her. ”Hi Swiftpaw!” she mewed once her sister had woken up. She wondered how she had been doing. Swiftpaw very nice, and Lilypaw tried to remember not to baby her. They were about the same age, after all. Still, Lilypaw’s big Herat often got in the way of things,

Swiftpaw yawned and smiled up at her sister before reaching her paws into the air like she didn’t want to get up. She playfully swiped at lilypaw’s face wanting to do something fun.

Lilypaw giggled. ”What do you wanna do? I ahevn’t seen you much!” Swiftpaw had been gone a lot, usually training, or hanging out with Shrikethorn. They seemed to be growing closer and closer, and she didn’t think that was bad. It was nice that she had some friends outside of her [huge] family.

Swiftpaw shook her head in a way that meant she didn’t know. She did miss her sister and it clearly showed as her boredom overcame everything else.

Lilypaw nodded. ”Hmmm...” she thought. ”We could play a game!” she suggested. She knew her sister loved playing Mossball, but she hoped they wouldn’t play it, she was getting bored of it.

She nodded in excitement and got to her paws. “No. Moss.” she mewed now hating the game. Everyone thought it was the only game she played so they always played it with her. It made her hate the game even more.

Lilypaw nodded, secretly feeling relieved. ”Hm...we could play hide and seek, or something else....what do you think?” she wanted to give her sister some independence.

“Hide. Seek?” she asked with a smile. She loved the game but now that the mud had dried it would be a little harder than last time she played.

Lilypaw got up, smiling. ”Sure, I’ll count.” she closed her eyes and let her issue hide. Her fur was brown and looked like some of the things around camp, unlike Lilypaw’s, so she could blend in better. Lilypaw’s fluffy pelt, like her mother’s made her stand out substantially. After she finished, she opened her eyes. She looked around for Swiftpaw.

Swiftpaw smiled as she found the perfect hiding spot by the elders den. She nodded in greeting to the elders before curling up into a ball so only her brown fur showed.

Lilypaw wandree around, checking the dens. Soon, she spotted an unfamiliar curl of brown fur that none of the elders possessed. She walked in, and found that Swiftpaw was hiding. ”Found you!” she lightly pressed a paw on her sister.

Swiftpaw smiled then motioned for lilypaw to hide as she put her paw over her eyes.

Lilypaw looked around for a spot. Soon she saw a small bush and fit herself into it, concealing her fluffy pelt. Unbeknownst to her, her tail stuck out in the back. She waited for Swiftpaw to ‘seek’ her.

Swiftpaw was glad she was deaf and not blind cause then she would never be able to play this game. As Swiftpaw looked around she noticed a tail sticking out of a bush. She pawed at the tail wondering who it belonged to.

Lilypaw stood up as her sister pawed at her tail. ”Ya got me!” she exclaimed beleaguered getting out to let Swiftpaw hide.

Swiftpaw padded off to find another hiding spot. She went behind the nursery as her dark fur blended in with the shadows.

Lilypaw looked around, before hearing the shuffling of Swiftpaw’s feet. She raced up to her and nudged her, laughing. She looked up at the sky. It was startling to get a bit dark, so they had time for only one or two more rounds.

Swiftpaw put her paw over her eyes as lilypaw hid.

Lilypaw crawled up a tree, concealed by its leaves, waiting for her sister to look for her. As Swiftpaw looked around, Lilypaw giggled. This was a good spot!

Swiftpaw looked everywhere but couldn’t find her sister then she thought about the one place she didn’t look, up. She looked up and saw lilypaw in a tree. She jumped up and pawed her telling her she found her.

Lilypaw felt a tug at her tail, and realized Swiftpaw had found her. She leapt down, and looked up at the sky. It was nighttime. ”We should go to sleep.” she mewed, and started to head back to the apprentice den. It had been a fun day.

Swiftpaw followed after lilypaw and curled up in her nest for a night’s sleep.
