Just vibing (closed)

Minnowstream padded into camp with a nice big fish in her jaws. She set it down in the fresh-kill pile before running up to Nettlesplash. "Hey Nettlesplash! How ya doing?" Asked Minnowstream sitting down, wrapping her silver tabby tail around her paws. She quite enjoyed talking to the ginger tom.

The rich late afternoon sunlight sparked sharply against the vibrant red of Nettlesplash's coat, bathing the massive tom in varying hues of vibrant reds and golds that provided a stark contrast against the pale greenery of the camp. A singular amber eye opened a fraction at the soft sound of approaching pawsteps, broad features tinted by undercurrents of drowsiness as he watched Minnowstream make her way over. Although the pair hadn't seen much of each other in the wake of Minnowstream's ceremony, considering how busy the entire Clan had become in the aftermath of the warmer weather, it wasn't uncommon for the duo to go out of their way to make conversation.

Jaws splitting into a surprisingly wide yawn, which made the partially healed scar atop his upper lip stretch unpleasantly, the long-furred tom reluctantly tried to force away the lingering drowsiness in his system. A velvety little sound of amused welcome reverberated within the hollow cavity of Nettlesplash's broad chest as the younger she-cat spoke, "Although I can't say that I don't appreciate the warm weather, I can't say the same for slogging through the mud every morning."

Minnowstream wrapped her silver tail around her paws. “Mud is the worse. It takes forever to clean it off.” Said Minnowstream. “I don’t know how Shadowclan stands it.”

”Who knows,” Nettlesplash rumbled out after a brief moment, making adequate room for Minnowstream to sit beside him in the late afternoon sunlight, They could be like us- maybe their diet helps keep their fur thick enough to keep them from getting coated in mud? If it happens with us, then there’s no reason it couldn’t happen to them.”

A diet comprised of scraps and waste, perfectly balanced.

Features knitting together in an unpleasant scowl at the thought of having to constantly clean away mud and debris, the big tom was quiet for a heartbeat or so before his attention was fully redirected towards Minnowstream. ”Enough about those bone chewers: how have you been adjusting to being a Warrior? Enjoying it more, now that you can go out on your own without having to ask permission every time?” Friendly curiosity was evident on Nettlesplash’s features, a genuine interest palpable in the probing question.

"Yeah being a warrior is pretty nice. Now when I'm out alone in the territories a cat wouldn't tell me to go back to camp." Minnowstream answered. "What was it like when you were out of camp the first time as a warrior?"

The sprawled tom shifted into a more upright position as Minnowstream diligently answered his friendly inquiry, Nettlesplash's scar dusted mouth twisting up into a crooked half-smile of understanding as he recalled his first legitimate interaction with his newest denmate- which partly entailed him telling her to go back to camp. The relaxed atmosphere shriveled up sharply on his behalf at the sudden questioning on behalf of Minnowstream, crumbling to a pitiful remnant of ash that hung awkwardly in the air. An inkling of tension blossomed beneath his thick fur as he uneasily recalled his first adventure out of camp, a sharp pinprick of anger constricting within his chest.

He still needed to speak to Lichenstar about some of her latest decisions.

"It was... certainly something," Nettlesplash mewed lowly after a heartbeat of silence, uncomfortable at the sudden recollection of old friends and past days, "I nearly picked a fight with the Leader and Deputy of ThunderClan- although I reckon that it was more their fault than ours."

Minnowstream could tell the shift in mood with the tom. "Are you okay?" Asked Minnowstream, concern in her voice.
