Honeykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Leaping to her position, Cloudbreeze called out the age-old call to her Clan. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the High Rock for a clan meeting!"

Honeykit emerged from the nursery with his mother, hovering close to her. He was curious-- he hadn't seen any sort of ceremony since he was really young. He hoped it was finally his turn, as he was itching to do more than hang around camp all day.

Cloudbreeze immediately spotted the young kit she had been looking for. "Honeykit, you have reached the age of Six Moons. As is tradition, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Honeypaw. Oakleap will be your mentor, and I have full faith you will be taught well." With that, she dismissed the Clan, and joined them in cheering on the new apprentice.

Honeykit's eyes widened in surprise as he was called, and he stepped forward ahead of the crowd of cats. He nodded, remembering seeing the warrior around when his mate was still in the nursery. The newly-named Honeypaw touched noses with Oakleap, smiling more warmly. "I look forward to training with you," he mewed quietly.

"Me too." Said Oakleap, touching noses with Honeypaw. "We begin tomorrow."
