Learn child (closed for Honeypaw)

Oakleap padded towards the apprentices den where her new apprentice was sleeping. “Get up sleepy head! It time for training.” Said Oakleap.

Honeypaw hopped to his paws almost instantly, having hardly slept. Apprentices were noisy, and he was an unfortunately light sleeper. On top of excitement for beginning his training, his night was pretty restless-- but he was sure he'd sleep well tonight. He emerged from the den and stretched his lanky legs. The tom was already getting quite tall, but his body had yet to actually fill out, so he was all length and no brawn. "What's first?" the golden tabby meowed excitedly, curious at how he would be beginning his training.

"We'll take a tour of the territories and then we can learn how to hunt." Meowed Oakleap. The tabby padded out of camp and stopped to look back at her apprentice before bounding off to the Thunderpath.

"This here is the Thunderpath. It really dangerous and has dangerous monsters on it so be careful when your around here." Said Oakleap sitting four fox-lengths away from the Thunderpath.

The golden tabby nodded as he trailed after Oakleap, taking in all of the sights around him. The forest was beautiful, and he was glad to finally be able to roam outside of camp. It was a little stifling at times-- too crowded for his tastes. Honeypaw frowned at the Thunderpath, wrinkling his pink nose. "It smells awful," he commented, rubbing his paw over his muzzle to hopefully block some of the stench.

"Yeah I don't know why is smells like that." Said Oakleap. "Ok come on now lets head on over to Fourtrees. You'll get to see the Windclan border on the way there." Said Oakleap before turning around and padding towards fourtrees.

Honeypaw followed after his mentor curiously, eyeing the WindClan border. "WindClan just smells like.. rabbits and grass," he commented, more excited to see the infamous Fourtrees. The massive clearing was even bigger than their camp and it left the small tom flabbergasted, his jaw hanging open. "The Great Rock is huge!"

"Yea it is! Its a wonder how the leaders get up there." Said Oakleap. She padded off towards Sunningrocks before stopping. "Hey do ya wanna try catching some prey?" Asked Oakleap.

Honeypaw eyed the Sunningrocks nervously-- despite their alliance with RiverClan, something made him terribly uncomfortable with going there, knowing how much blood had been shed on those rocks. He turned back to his mentor, nodding resolutely. "I feel like all I can smell is the fishy river," he grumbled.

"Yes that is the main smell of this area. Try smelling the rocks. Prey think of it as good shelter and are often hiding in them. Especially small prey like mice." Oakleap said. She sat down and made a movement with her tail.

"Come on now. Go on and try." Said Oakleap encourgingly.

Honeypaw nodded, lifting his nose to the air, his mouth falling open just slightly out of instinct, letting the scents of the area fill his palate. The fish smell faded into the rest of the sensory noise after a moment, making the other surrounding scents stronger. The scent of mouse overwhelmed his senses, and his white paws carried him forward slowly. His eyes caught sight of the small brown creature after a moment, and the apprentice bunched his back legs, readying himself to jump. The golden cat slipped a little bit on the rock as he jumped, but he managed to sink his claws into the mouse before it could scuttle off between the rocks out of reach. He killed it swiftly, remembering to say his thanks to StarClan before turning back to his mentor. "How was that?" he asked, knowing it was a little sloppy but still proud he'd gotten his first catch.

Oakleap smiled at her apprentice's catch. "Very good! Though next time when using your paws put a ton of pressure so it'll be less bloody, and if jumping off of a rock dig your claws in. It might help you." Said Oakleap. She hoped her apprentice would take her advice and next time when he hunted he would have an even better catch.
